Toy Story 4 Confirmed? Pixar Reportedly Working For 2015 Release

Is Toy Story 4 in the works? According to two Colombian news sites, Disney and Pixar have confirmed that the new movie will be released in 2015.

Pixar and Disney have also reportedly confirmed that Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and Joan Cusack will all return for the new movie.

Jorge Luis Balaguera, the entertainment coordinator for Radio Station RCN, writes on Twitter:

“In 2015, Pixar will release Toy Story 4, the voices of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and Joan Cusack confirmed for the main characters.”

Pixar and Disney have not made an official announcement, at least not in English, but Colombian news site Terra reports that the movie has been officially announced.

Terra writes (with some help from Google Translate):

“Disney announced that they are working on a new sequel to Toy Story, which could be released in 2015. Toy Story 3 was a huge success, bringing in over a billion dollars at the box office, and the story will resume in the new movie.”

What do you think about a new Toy Story movie? The reactions have been mixed so far.

On one hand, the third movie really was a perfect ending and another sequel could put a stain on the franchise. On the other hand, Toy Story 3 ended at a new beginning for the toys. A fourth installment would focus on the characters in their new home and would bring the story to a new generation of kids.

From a monetary standpoint it makes perfect sense for Disney and Pixar. The Toy Story franchise has brought in billions of dollars and if all of the major players are returning for the sequel then Pixar will probably be able to add another billion dollars to its bank account with the release of Toy Story 4.

Tom Hanks fueled the Toy Story 4 rumors last Summer when he told a reporter that he was pretty sure there would be another movie.

Hanks said: “I think there will be, yeah … I think they’re working on it now.”
