‘American Horror Story’ Spoilers: Ryan Murphy Gives A Few Teasers, Plus Is Vera Farmiga Joining The Cast?

American Horror Story Season 7 spoilers are trickling in, even though the series won’t return to FX until mid-September. The series creator, Ryan Murphy, has been careful not to reveal too much about the season, just yet. Below is everything we know about the upcoming season’s theme, casting, and a few juicy spoilers.

American Horror Story Season 7 Spoilers ahead, proceed with caution.

Billie Lourd Goes Blue

Lourd, who usually has long flowing blonde locks, traded in her platinum hair color for an icy blue color. The 24-year-old actress took to Instagram to show off her new look.

“Winter is coming @mrrpmurphy @ahsfix,” Billie captioned the image.

Apparently, the blue-colored hair is related to American Horror Story. Several weeks ago, Ryan Murphy announced that Carrie Fisher’s daughter would appear in Season 7. AHS fans expressed how excited they were to see how she would do in the series.

“Winter is coming. Can’t wait for everybody to see what the incredible Billie Lourd does this season on AHS,” Ryan Murphy noted.

The Theme

Murphy hasn’t confirmed much about the Season 7 theme yet. He disclosed that the theme would be based on the election, but it wouldn’t be about Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton, per se. American Horror Story fans wondered if he was just teasing the fans with the scoop.

It looks like he was, at least, partly telling the truth. Murphy posted a picture of Evan Peters, sporting blue hair similar to Billie Lourd. Ryan didn’t elaborate any further on the importance of the blue hair color.

“There are only three people in the world who know what it is, which is [FX president and general manager] John Landgraf, [Fox Television Group chairman and CEO] Dana Walden and Sarah Paulson,” Murphy revealed at FX press day in January.

The only information that Murphy has released about the American Horror Story Season 7 theme is that it will be set in present day. The first episode will take place on election night, Deadline reported.

Ryan said that he wouldn’t keep the theme a secret like Season 6. He should reveal the theme and a few spoilers before American Horror Story returns in September.

Casting Scoop

American Horror Story has not announced the entire cast for Season 7. So far, Murphy revealed that Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters would return, alongside newcomers Billie Lourd and Billy Eichner. There was no official word about the rest of the cast.

Murphy suggested that Angela Bassett and Cuba Gooding, Jr. would return, but no deal had been reached, yet. Denis O’Hare, Kathy Bates, Matt Bomer, Lily Rabe, Wes Bentley, Finn Wittrock, Cheyenne Jackson, Frances Conroy, and Taissa Farmiga are expected to return in some capacity.

The Rumors

After Bates Motel had wrapped the final episode, rumors picked up that Vera Farmiga, Taissa’s older sister, would appear on American Horror Story. Many AHS fans felt that she would do very well on the show since she is a horror series and movie veteran.

Murphy has not revealed if Vera will appear on the show, only stating that he would love the chance to work with her.

Lady Gaga will not be in Season 7, as she is busy with her upcoming tour. Ryan explained that he hopes to work with her when she has free time, but explained that she doesn’t have 12 weeks to dedicate to American Horror Story right now.

American Horror Story should begin filming Season 7 in the next few weeks. AHS fans, what do you think Evan Peters and Billie Lourd’s blue hair means? Do you think Vera Farmiga will join the cast?

American Horror Story returns in September to FX.
