Song Joong-ki, Song Hye-kyo Wedding Rumors Could Be True

Looks like there may be a SongSong wedding after all.

If all goes well, fans of Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo would soon see the couple walking down the aisle.

Rumors of Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo readying themselves for marriage started making rounds in January when Laneige, on its official Facebook page, let it slip out that their ambassador Song Hye-kyo, will tie the knot this year to ‘oppa.’

On its official Facebook page, the post congratulated Song Hye-kyo on her upcoming nuptials with her ‘oppa.’ However, this post was soon deleted and replaced by another. Fans are still unsure if the ‘oppa’ referred to in the post is Song Joong-ki, but they are hoping that it is.

In an odd coincidence, the Descendants of the Sun actor Song Joong-ki recently bought a house in Itaewon for $8.9 million. The house, as per the document obtained by Korea Herald, has a total floor area of 371.7 square meters and the area of the land is 602 square meters.

Song Joong-ki currently lives with his parents in Seocho-dong in southern Seoul. A house in Itaewon means he would be spending time with some celebrity neighbors, including singer-comedian Park Myeong-su, popular host Shin Dong-yup, and actress Go Hyun-jung.

Buying a new house could easily signify the actor’s eagerness to settle down. After his interview with W magazine, the Hallyu actor re-affirmed his desire to get married at a press conference for Doota Duty-Free outlet held on May 15.

According to buzz on Weibo, which has a huge fan following for Song Joong-ki, the translated version of Doota’s press conference indicated that the actor right now has three priorities — all pointing to him getting married and settling down. Song Joong-ki said he wishes to start a family, take care of them by attending to their needs, and winning a big award for his movie or drama.

Coincidentally, around the same time, an old heart-wrenching story of Song Hye-kyo resurfaced on Korean television, and many sympathized with the actress.

In a recent episode of Channel A’s celebrity investigation show, Poongmon Show, it was revealed that actress Song Hye Kyo was a victim of blackmail.

Song Hye-kyo’s mother received a letter in 2005, blackmailing her for $223,507.

“If you don’t send me 250 million KRW, then I’ll pour acid on you and Song Hye Kyo’s body. If you don’t want to see your daughter’s body rotting and melting for the rest of your life, then you should really think about it. I’ve already prepared large amounts of hydrochloric acid and hallucinogens,” the blackmailer said in his letter.

After investigation, it came to light that the blackmailer was Song Hye-kyo’s former manager.

It’s been 12 years since the incident took place, and the brave Song Hye-kyo carried on with her life quietly.

Perhaps the need to protect a loved one is possibly the reason Song Joong-ki is reportedly talking marriage.

An official from Blossom Entertainment, Song Joong-ki’s agency, said he was not aware that the actor purchased a house. “We have not heard about it from him. Since it’s the actor’s personal matter, we cannot verify it,” he said.

Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo have been denying having any romantic liaison with each other. However, rumors resurfaced after the KBS Drama Awards on December 31 where the Songsong couple was seen gushing over each other.

Song Hye’kyo’s fans on social media said that, of late, the actress has been hanging out with her girlfriends, possibly hunting for bridesmaids for her upcoming wedding.

Despite sufficient evidence, both stars have kept their affair clandestine. Fans are hoping that their favorite SongSong couple tie the knot soon.
