One Direction News: Niall Horan And Zayn Malik’s AMAs Reunion, Liam Payne Baby Rumors Continue

As always, it has been a busy week for One Direction’s Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, and former member Zayn Malik. The five lads are all currently hard at work on their solo careers right now, and 2017 is looking especially promising for the boys, with Horan and Payne set to release new music and Styles starring in a blockbuster film.

Niall’s AMAs Performance

This past week, the American Music Awards announced in a press release that Niall Horan will be performing this Sunday. The AMAs is a popular award show which typically places an emphasis on musical performances by top 40 artists. A huge list of AMAs performers has been announced so far, including the Chainsmokers, Halsey, Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, Lady Gaga, Sting, and more.

Horan confirmed the AMAs appearance in a tweet, and stated that he will be performing his new single “This Town” at the show. This will be Niall’s third performance at the AMAs, and his first without the rest of One Direction with him.

Niall, who said that he was “absolutely delighted” to perform at the AMAs, later tweeted again, saying that he has “incredible memories” from the AMAs from during his One Direction days and “can’t wait” for the show.

Niall’s new solo track “This Town” could certainly use the AMAs publicity, as it has languished on the charts. In the Billboard Hot 100, which was updated today, “This Town” sits at #64.

Niall and Zayn’s AMAs Reunion

Interestingly enough, Zayn Malik will be joining Niall at the AMAs this year. Zayn is nominated for New Artist of the Year, and his girlfriend Gigi Hadid is also hosting the show, so Malik definitely would not skip the AMAs. Malik thanked his fans, who call themselves the “zquad,” in a post on Twitter.

If Niall and Zayn do meet up at the AMAs, this would be the first reunion between the two since their One Direction days. No current members of One Direction have publicly met up with Zayn, and the boys have not spent much time together with each other either.

Zayn recently made news for mentioning One Direction in his new autobiography Zayn, which came out at the beginning of the month. According to E! News, Malik wrote that he thinks proudly of his time with One Direction.

“I can honestly say I’m proud of a lot of stuff from the One Direction days. I’m not sure people realize that, but I am. I’ve got the memorabilia – the platinum discs we received with every album—all over my house. I have a wall dedicated to displaying them. One Direction was an incredible experience in its own right, and it’s a part of me, an integral part of my history, and I’m never going to deny that aspect of my life.”

If this is the case, then Zayn’s One Direction reunion with Niall at the AMAs may just be a happy one instead of a negative interaction.

Liam Payne’s Baby Drama

Niall’s other One Direction bandmate Liam Payne has had quite the busy week as well. Liam’s girlfriend Cheryl Fernandez-Versini (known as Cheryl Cole) has left Modest! Management, according to Celebs Now. Liam and the other One Direction boys were all signed to Simon Cowell’s Modest! Management, and the company also produced their concert film One Direction: This Is Us.

A break with Modest! signifies more than just new career moves for Cheryl. Rumor has it that Cheryl is preparing to raise a child with Liam. The rumors about a potential new One Direction baby have continued since earlier this year, spurred on by pictures in which Cheryl seems to have a baby bump.

Meanwhile, Liam also took the time to meet some One Direction fans this past week.

Made in the A.M. Anniversary

This past Sunday marked the one-year anniversary of Made in the A.M., the final One Direction album released before the hiatus officially began. While the One Direction boys usually tweet or post on other social media to acknowledge important events in the band’s history, none of them did so this year. Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan all posted on Twitter and Instagram on the date, but none of them mentioned the album.

Instead, Niall talked about getting McDonald’s, and Louis mentioned that he was “bored.”

Niall even communicated with Louis by leaving a comment on his Instagram photo, but neither of them mentioned the One Direction milestone from that day.

If the boys of One Direction aren’t keen to dwell on their musical past, this could mean that the One Direction hiatus will stretch on for longer than the fans expected.

As per usual, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson still manage to keep making headlines after One Direction, and an AMAs reunion with Horan and Zayn Malik would probably break the internet at this point.
