‘Minecraft’ 1.0 Ender Update Pocket Edition For Android Beta Testing Available

Mojang just announced that the Windows 10 and Pocket editions of Minecraft will get an update soon. Before the year ends, crafters on these platforms will be able to enjoy the 1.0 Ender update, which will highlight The End. Beta testing is also ongoing, but only for Minecraft Pocket Edition for Android.

The Minecraft update for Windows 10 and Pocket Edition is expected to bring in most of the features found on the game’s original PC version. Furthermore, Mojang, through its official website, shared the following.

“Our next update is packed with features but most significant is probably The End and its iconic inhabitant – The Ender Dragon. Though you can carry on playing after defeating the misunderstood beast, for many, taking it down is the ultimate goal in Minecraft. Something to aim for and achieve after hours of play. A tangible end-game for Survival players.”

Don’t expect the Minecraft update to be only about overpowering the Ender Dragon. After winning the ultimate boss battle, the 1.0 Ender update will also give gamers access to the outer islands of the End as well as the End Cities where “you can encounter the new Shulker mob, pick up cool purple blocks for building (aptly called purpur), farm chorus plants, and even loot the highly coveted Elytra glider from an End ship,” Xbox Wire specified.

Mojang AB’s director of Creative Communications, Owen Hill, added that aside from bringing in the End to Minecraft Windows 10 and Pocket Edition, they are also increasing the world height. From the 128-block high ceiling, the update will enable a 256-block world height.

“If you ask me, a 256-block high building is a silly, silly thing but I suffer from mild vertigo so take from that what you will,” he noted.

Of course, the upcoming Minecraft update is highly anticipated already and these are the fans’ reactions upon hearing the good news.

Crafters who want to explore the update now can sign up for to access the unreleased version of the Minecraft: Pocket Edition. However, the beta testing is open only for the Android version. And since it is a beta version, it is natural to expect bugs, instability, and other issues along the way.

It is also worth noting that the upcoming Minecraft update will be included in the Apple TV Edition once it hits the shelves. The new game edition, briefly mentioned by Tim Cook during an Apple event last month, will allow crafters to finally build their own worlds straight from the Apple TV and play with other Minecraft gamers across various platforms like the Pocket Edition currently available for iPads and iPhone. According to Polygon, Minecraft Apple TV Edition is set for release later this year.

Meanwhile, Minecraft for PC and MC is also expecting its own update. Minecraft 1.11, called the Exploration Update, will highlight the arrival of llamas to the sandbox video game.

“Apart from looking like llamas, the new mobs will have a number of bespoke features to make them stand out,” PCGamesN explained. “For starters, they’ll be able to spit, which despite being incredibly rude and obnoxious is also an effective means of ranged attack.”

The release date for Minecraft 1.11 for PC and Mac has not been set in stone yet.
