WWE News: Huge Title Match Announced And Edge’s ‘Cutting Edge’ Guest Revealed For 900th Episode Of ‘SmackDown LIVE’

The 900th episode of SmackDown LIVE is taking place next Tuesday, and WWE is really building it up to be a huge show. It has already been announced that Hall of Famer Edge is coming back for the return of “The Cutting Edge,” but now, his special guest is known. The Undertaker is also making his return after months away, but what will the “Dead Man” do? Now, a huge title match has been announced as the show just keeps on getting bigger.

As the build-up for Survivor Series continues, the 900th episode of SmackDown LIVE just so happens to take place as the final go-home show for the pay-per-view (PPV). Edge’s return to WWE for a segment of “The Cutting Edge” is his first in quite some time, but everyone has wondered who his special guest would be.

Yes, Shane McMahon made the official announcement that Edge would be back for next week’s show, and that makes the next reveal even more ironic. WrestleZone is reporting that WWE has confirmed Edge’s special guest on “The Cutting Edge” to be none other than Shane McMahon.

This news isn’t shocking considering general manager Daniel Bryan named Shane-O Mac as the replacement for Baron Corbin on Team SmackDown LIVE at Survivor Series.

Edge’s segment is likely to build up the hype for the brand vs. brand match against Team Raw at Survivor Series and will be the last big hurrah. It wouldn’t even be surprising if they left “The Cutting Edge” to close out the show.

Another big announcement was made this week in regard to the 900th episode of SmackDown LIVE and it is a good one.

Daniel Bryan officially announced that Dolph Ziggler would be defending his Intercontinental Championship against The Miz next week. This is the mandatory rematch that is owed to The Miz after he lost the title to Ziggler at Hell in a Cell last month.

As reported by Cageside Seats, Bryan granted this rematch to The Miz as the superstar was scared that Ziggler would lose the belt to Sami Zayn at Survivor Series If that is to happen, the Intercontinental Title would move to Monday Night Raw and Miz would lose his rematch.

While Miz is owed the rematch, he has been refusing it now for almost a month because he simply wasn’t ready for it. With the possibility that the IC Title could change brands, he is making sure to get his shot before its too late.

It’s really hard to believe that the final WWE television show before Survivor Series could be any bigger than the go-home build for the PPV. With the date happening to fall with the 900th episode of SmackDown LIVE, WWE is going all out and making sure that fans tune in. With less than a week to go, expect more names announced to appear and extra matches also.

The 900th episode of SmackDown LIVE is really a great way for WWE to have a huge final build-up for the four-hour Survivor Series on Nov. 20. With the return of The Undertaker, Edge coming back, and other surprise names showing up, it’s bound to be a fun show. Now, the big Intercontinental Title match between Dolph Ziggler and The Miz makes it even more of a spectacle since that match could have implications on the PPV a few days later.
