WWE News: Huge Updates On All Six ‘Survivor Series’ Teams For Team Raw And Team SmackDown

In the past two days, there has been a lot of additional build-up for this year’s Survivor Series which will have Monday Night Raw taking on SmackDown LIVE! Yes, there is that big match of Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg, but seeing the two brands square off in traditional elimination-style tag matches. After this week’s Raw and SmackDown, all six teams between the three matches have been updated with huge names added to each.

Before this week, there were hardly any members on the tag teams for Survivor Series, but so much has changed in the last 48 hours. First of all, as recapped by the official website of WWE, there were additions to Team Raw which proved they are throwing their big guns out there.

Universal Champion Kevin Owens, United States Champion Roman Reigns, and Chris Jericho were all named to the team by Mick Foley and Stephanie McMahon. Later on Monday night, Braun Strowman won a battle royal to qualify for the match as well. A fifth member has yet to be named, and that could happen next week on Raw.

Last night on SmackDown LIVE, Daniel Bryan named the entire team for their side in the men’s match, and it’s a strong one. WWE World Heavyweight Champion AJ Styles is the captain and will be joined by Baron Corbin, Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt, and Randy Orton.

Team Raw has that one opening, and it is quite interesting that John Cena is conspicuously absent.

Now, another match has seen a lot of changes in the past two days as well, and that is the women’s elimination-style tag team match. Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte is captain of Team Raw, and she will be joined by Nia Jax and Bayley. There are still two openings that need to be filled on that team.

As listed on the official page for the Survivor Series match, Team SmackDown complete,y filled out their women’s team last night. Nikki Bella is the captain of the team, and she will be joined by Carmella, Naomi, Alexa Bliss, and SmackDown LIVE’s Women’s Champion Becky Lynch.

According to WrestleZone, Natalya’s pleas to be added to the SmackDown women’s team didn’t seem to work out. Still, Daniel Bryan did end up making her the official coach for the team on last night’s show.

The third elimination-style tag team match will be the biggest one of all as it will be a 10-man match with tag teams from both brands. So far on Team Raw, the Raw Tag Team Champions are the only members and The New Day are indeed the captains. Only two members of the trio will be on the team which means eight slots remain open.

Over on the SmackDown LIVE side of things, their Survivor Series team is filling out quite nicely. SmackDown Tag Team Champions Rhyno and Heath Slater are the captains and were first joined by the Hype Bros. last week.

Just last night, American Alpha and The Usos both qualified to be a part of the team which means that only two spots (one team) remain. Interestingly enough, The Usos defeated a returning WWE Attitude Era tag team to get their spots.

So far, the only other match on the card is Goldberg vs. Lesnar, but Cageside Seats reported that another is likely to be added soon. Last night on SmackDown LIVE, Dolph Ziggler issued an open challenge for his Intercontinental Title and he aimed it at anyone on Monday Night Raw.

This year’s Survivor Series marks the 30th anniversary of the huge pay-per-view, and it looks as if WWE is going all out. The match between Goldberg and Brock Lesnar will headline the event, but Team Raw and Team SmackDown LIVE battling for brand supremacy will be one of the ultimate highlights. There are still some openings in all three elimination-style tag team matches, and those coveted spots are up for grabs.
