San Francisco 49ers Vs. Arizona Cardinals: Bold Predictions For NFL Week 5

The San Francisco 49ers are set to host the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday Night Football this week. Both teams have gotten off to an incredibly rough start this season, although Bruce Arians and the Cardinals have been a much more disappointing team so far this year.

Arizona was expected to start the season off strong and prove to be one of the top contenders in the NFC once again this season. Instead, they have gotten off to a 1-3 start, and there are plenty of question marks surrounding them. Many believe that the Cardinals will figure things out and get back on track, but there are definite reasons to be concerned.

San Francisco, on the other hand, wasn’t expected to compete for a playoff spot this season. Chip Kelly knew that rebuilding the 49ers would be a process when he took the head coaching job this past offseason.

It will be interesting to see whether the 49ers can compete with the Cardinals and threaten to send them to 1-4. Arizona has to take this game seriously, as San Francisco has already shown that they can compete with talented football teams.

All of that being said, what bold predictions can be made for the 49ers vs. Cardinals game in Week 5 action?

Colin Kaepernick Will Get Playing Time

According to a report from Matt Miller of Bleacher Report, some of the 49ers believe that Colin Kaepernick should get a chance to start. Kelly has been happy with the play of Blaine Gabbert, but Kaepernick will end up playing this week. Arizona will be doing everything they can to get to Gabbert and force turnovers, and Kelly will have to make a change at some point in the game.

Carson Palmer Will Get Back on Track

One of the big issues for the Cardinals so far this season has been the struggles that Carson Palmer has had. Palmer will break out of his slump this week against the 49ers. He will throw for at least 300 yards and three touchdowns and finally get the Arizona offense back on track.

Carlos Hyde Will Score Another Two Touchdowns

San Francisco has to be happy with what they’ve seen from running back Carlos Hyde this week. He will not put up huge yardage numbers this week, but he will score another two touchdowns. Hyde has to come through in goal line situations this week for the 49ers to have a chance at pulling off a win, which is what he will end up doing.

Arizona Will Force at Least Four Turnovers

If the Cardinals want to come away with a win, forcing turnovers will be a key. Arizona will force at least four turnovers throughout the course of the game. Most of them will come via interceptions, but the Cardinals could end up forcing a fumble or two as well.

The Arizona Cardinals Will Get Their Second Win of the Season

Arizona is without question the better team on paper and that will be the case on the field as well. They will end up winning in convincing fashion when everything is said and done. Improving to 2-3 isn’t where the Cardinals thought they would be, but they will come away with a huge victory.

Expect to see the 49ers put up a fight in the first half, but fall apart a bit in the second half. Neither team has been playing up to their full potential, but the Cardinals will start the process of getting back on track this week.
