News Of Brad Pitt Child Abuse Charges Days After Angelina Jolie Files For Divorce

Days after Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt, suspicions of child abuse by the actor have emerged. Us Weekly Magazine reported that a source told them that “an incident took place and prompted [Angelina] to act and file.” No other details were provided, but the incident reportedly “affected the entire family.” Suspicions of child abuse by Pitt grew after an incident on their private plane led to questioning of the actor by the Department of Children and Family Services upon their landing. The flight was from France to Burbank, and during the flight, someone made an anonymous call to the DCFS. Representatives from the agency were on the tarmac to question Brad when the family deplaned. A source indicates that the investigation is ongoing and something of which Pitt is aware. He has not been charged with anything at this point and maintains that he is innocent. A source close to Brad said the following.

“He takes the matter very seriously and says he did not commit any abuse of his children. It’s unfortunate that people involved are continuing to present him in the worst possible light.”

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been together for 12 years, married for two. They have six children together – Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8.

Reports of the investigation of 52-year-old Pitt originally emerged on Thursday. That report, from TMZ, stated that a drunken Brad not only was verbally and physically abusive to 15-year-old Maddox on the plane, but continued his rant after getting off the plane and even threatened to leave the tarmac using one of the fuel trucks. The DCFS has interviewed both Pitt and Angelina Jolie and will be interviewing the children. It’s routine in cases of alleged child abuse for the police department to be informed as well. The Los Angeles Police Department has stated that they are not currently investigating Brad. Angelina is reportedly asking for sole physical custody, but wants Pitt to have visitation rights and is not seeking spousal support.

Brad is said to be devastated by news of the divorce. People magazine cited a source who told them the following.

“He is just wrecked by this. He got a heads-up [about the filing] two days before, and he was appealing to her to do this quietly – not to save the marriage but to consider the well-being of the children – and it was ignored.”

They also state that the case against Brad has been referred to the FBI and that the decision to file for divorce was not one that 41-year-old Jolie took lightly.

“Angelina did what she felt she needed to do. She’s loved this man for several years, and [divorce] is not something you do impulsively.”

Although the incident with Pitt on the plane triggered the filing, it isn’t the first bump in the road for the Hollywood couple. The relationship has been rocky for a while and Pitt has been in counseling to try to work things out for the sake of the children.

“He was willing to do anything, change any habit, change any lifestyle, to do what had to be done to make this work. And by ‘make this work,’ that means doing what has to be done to make even a split one that is amicable and in the best interests of the children.”

Many of the disagreements between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been about parenting. Brad has been described as stricter, more of a rule maker and enforcer, while Angelina has a more relaxed, laid back parenting style. This would cause problems when there was an issue with one of the children, with Pitt pushing for enforcement of rules and Jolie trying to bargain and not forcing the children to follow through.
