Luann de Lesseps Is Probably The Last Person Who Should Be Slamming Bad Friends

Luann de Lesseps has been head-over-heels in love with Thomas D’Agostino this entire season of The Real Housewives of New York. Luann wants everyone to know that they are in love, even though they met just a few months before getting engaged. de Lesseps has been so blinded by love that she hasn’t seen all of the red flags that have popped up around her. Viewers learned this past week that Thomas had been caught cheating on Luann with another woman just 48 hours before her engagement party. Plus, de Lesseps’ friends, Ramona Singer and Sonja Morgan, were both hurt that she would date a man who they had both dated.

According to a new tweet, Luann de Lesseps is now questioning if Bethenny Frankel is really a friend after she shared the cheating story with her on television. Luann believes that she could have told her in private and away from the cameras if Frankel was truly a friend. And as the episode aired last night, de Lesseps shared her thoughts on Twitter.

“Was I devastated when I heard? Yes completely. Didn’t know what to do asked the crew to stop filming so I could be private #Honest #inpain,” Luann de Lesseps wrote on Twitter, revealing that she was truly hurt by the news she was just told.

de Lesseps also questioned why Bethenny would choose to tell their mutual co-stars before she told her. Of course, Bethenny wanted to get some feedback in how to proceed, which was why she told Carole Radziwill and Ramona Singer. She didn’t tell all of the ladies. Carole is her closest friend, and Ramona has known Luann for years. But de Lesseps didn’t see it that way.

“If you are a friend and concerned why would you tell other girls first so they could revel,” Luann questioned to which a fan wrote, “girl, Bethenny is not your friend at all!! It could have been handled differently,” and Luann writing back, “Of course friend would have told me privately. What was the real motivation?”

When Bethenny was asked on Twitter about why she told Luann in front of the cameras, she simply replied, “Cuz I’m on a reality show vs ‘days of our lives’ or a blank screen.”

According to a new ET Online report, Frankel has recently revealed that many of the ladies don’t allow for some aspects of their lives to be filmed for the show. She doesn’t think that’s a real perception of these ladies.

“I live my life honestly,” Frankel has revealed about what people actually see on The Real Housewives of New York, adding, “You have 50 percent of the cast that has a whole taboo, police line, ‘do not cross’ section of their life that is not discussed on camera and never has been. For legal issues and liability issues, Bravo doesn’t need to bring it up and it’s a difficult line to ride, and that may be why I don’t come back.”

So, why is Luann de Lesseps the last person to be blaming people for being bad friends? Well, she’s been a horrible friend herself. When Luann learned that Thomas had gone on a few dates with Ramona Singer and had been a friends-with-benefits partner to Sonja Morgan, she simply said that she didn’t care. Morgan was heartbroken, according to Radar Online, because she truly felt that she had lost a companion. And all de Lesseps could say was that she didn’t care about anything that happened before she came into the picture. When Morgan tried to bring up her feelings with Luann, she simply said that her co-stars were jealous of her. One could argue that Bethenny is at least a good friend, as she tried to warn Luann about his cheating rather than ignore it and let her learn on her own.

Do you think Luann de Lesseps should be so critical of Bethenny’s delivery of the cheating rumors, given her own behavior this season?
