Ed Sheeran Tops List Of Wedding Songs, Further Isolates Himself With ‘Hobbit Hole’

Ed Sheeran has topped the list of the songs most frequently played on weddings, according to the Sydney Morning Herald. The 25-year-old singer, who announced his decision to quit social media late last year, sure knows how to ignite the hearts of lovebirds with his songs.

The list of the most popular songs for first dances at weddings was compiled by Spotify. The streaming service analyzed playlists played at weddings and came to the conclusion that Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” is the most popular song that lovebirds use for their first dance.

Meanwhile, Etta James’ classic song “At Last” is the second most popular wedding first-dance song, which means a lot of soulmates are “thinking out loud” while dancing on their weddings thanks to Ed Sheeran.

In the song, Ed Sheeran sings about his eternal devotion and love to his partner even though his hair is all but gone and his memory fades, as he sings in “Thinking Out Loud.”

Apart from Ed Sheeran and James’ wedding hits, the list also features Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years,” Jason Mraz’s “I Won’t Give Up” as well as Michael Buble’s “Marry Me.”

Ed Sheeran was invited to celebrate the Freud-Curtises’ daughter’s birthday last weekend, according to the Daily Mail. The “Thinking Out Loud” singer joined the exclusive club spearheaded by the Love Actually director Richard Curtis and his wife broadcaster Emma Freud.

The birthday bash was thrown for Scarlet, their 21-year-old daughter. And Ed Sheeran had the rare opportunity to join the bash thrown by Curtis and Freud, known to friends as the Freud-Curtises. The birthday party took place at their Suffolk home.

In the photograph taken during the bash, Ed Sheeran and other guests of the party are pictured wearing pink jackets. The idea was inspired by the Pink Ladies of 1978 movie Grease, and the jackets had the initials FC emblazoned on them.

Scarlett, the main highlight of the party, shared the photo herself with Ed Sheeran and her parents, writing in the caption that she is a “very bossy 21-year-old” who makes her friends wear the same clothes as her.

It seems that Ed Sheeran is apparently looking to further isolate himself from the real world, according to the Daily Mail. The “I See Fire” singer has built a luxury “hobbit hole” in his back garden.

The news comes half a year after Ed Sheeran announced quitting social media. The award-winning singer set up a recording studio and hot tub to make himself feel comfortable and not have to make trips to his recording studio to work.

The news may be alarming to Ed Sheeran’s fans especially considering the fact that the singer is believed to be isolating himself from the world. The “hobbit hole” built on the grounds of his £900,000 property, may serve as a shelter for the singer to shelter himself from people.

The singer was surely inspired to make the new building on his property by The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug film, in which his song “I See Fire” was used as a soundtrack. Ed Sheeran’s new home included rounded walls and circular windows, the attributes of a typical hobbit house from J. R. R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings and Hobbit books.

Ed Sheeran, who is often compared to a hobbit due to his height, also received planning permission for a four-room tree house in his garden. But building the hobbit hole doesn’t mean the “Thinking Out Loud” singer is going to stop taking care of himself, as Sheeran is also planning to build a pool and gym complex on his property.
