Gwen Stefani Says She’s Proud Of Her Decade-Long Marriage, But She Wanted More Kids

No Doubt frontwoman and solo artist Gwen Stefani has pulled off a feat that seems kind of impressive in Hollywood, remaining happily married to Bush singer Gavin Rossdale for a decade and raising two boys.

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale’s marriage hasn’t all been red carpets and fancy hotels either — the couple have had their share of challenges, including the revelation in 2004 that the Bush frontman had a secret love child named Daisy Lowe with British designer Pearl Lowe.

But after meeting in 1995 and marrying in 2002, Stefani is very pleased with her life as it is — even if she’d hoped to have a slightly bigger family. The platinum blonde says of marriage at the ten-year mark that it’s miraculous:

“A miracle … My biggest accomplishment is my marriage so far. Because it’s hard, everyone knows it’s hard … [Marriage] is something that I always wanted to do successfully … It was a dream of mine. I like the official-ness and the family-ness of it all, having the same name and making decisions together.”

Stefani says that while some couples stagnate at the decade marker, she feels her relationship is better than it ever was — in the upcoming interview with Marie Claire, the singer says:

“[Our relationship] is better than it’s ever been … Like, we’re learning about each other all the time. He’s an amazing dad, he works so hard – I can hear him writing songs through the wall, and it is at a much quicker pace than me!”

“… He balances me out. And he – he never stops liking me, which is awesome … It makes me feel happy, that someone likes me as much as he does.”

In the interview, Stefani admits that the pair wanted a third child about two years ago, but that it “didn’t really work out.”
