‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: New Character To Cause Problems For Hope & Rafe

Days Of Our Lives is heating up this summer, and it looks like the shocking return of Hope Brady’s former love, Aiden Jennings, won’t be the only thing causing problems in her relationship with Rafe Hernandez.

According to Yahoo! TV, a new character is about to be introduced to Days of Our Lives viewers, and the beautiful, young woman will definitely be shaking up Rafe’s world, and possibly his romance with Hope.

The character, named Blanca, will be played by Colombian telenovela star Ximena Duque. Blanca will waltz right into Rafe’s life and introduce herself as a friend of his mother, Adriana. Has Rafe’s mother set the meeting up in hopes that her son will forget about Hope Brady, and her messy life, and fall in love with Blanca?

“He was like, ‘Who is this? Hmmm,’ ” Duque revealed, adding that her character is going to be upbeat and fresh, and “bring a Latin flavor” to Days of Our Lives.

Blanca will certainly have her sights set on Rafe. However, Duque, who is making her English-speaking television debut on Days of Our Lives, isn’t revealing too much more than that.

“You never know where the character is going to go. I can’t give you that much information, because I want you to see the show, but yes, at the beginning, [Blanca] was flirting with Rafe, and then [she] ended up going another route, which was great.”

The acting vet also revealed the differences, and struggle, of transitioning from a Latin soap to Days of Our Lives.

“The good thing is, I’ve done many soap operas. You need to have a certain rhythm to do these kind of shows, and I have it. Here in Miami when we shoot a soap opera, we do 20 scenes daily. [At] Days, they don’t do that many scenes, so even though I had to speak in English, and even though I had to memorize everything in English and that was hard, for me it was also kind of easy because we do a lot more scenes [for telenovelas].”

Meanwhile, Days of Our Lives fans will be getting more than just Blanca to heat up the summer. Hope will also be torn between Rafe and Aiden, and the process of making her big decision will be most interesting, as well as include some faces from the past.

All the while, Chad and Abigail’s relationship is taking a turn for the worse. Abby is not getting better, and is refusing to see her family members, even Chad and son Thomas. This is throwing Chad into a depression. He’s drinking too much, and young Ciara, his live-in nanny, is having to take care of Chad as well as baby Thomas. However, Ciara, who is harboring a serious crush on Chad, doesn’t seem to mind being the woman of the house. Will she try to step right into Abigail’s former life?

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, actress Kate Mansi, who plays Abigail DiMera, will end her run in the role this month. Mansi’s replacement has been chosen, and soap newcomer Marci Miller will step into the role.

Days of Our Lives fans can expect to see Marci as Abigail sometime this fall. Miller recently released a statement on her social media accounts thanking fans for welcoming her to the soap, and for giving her support during this brand new journey in her life and career.
