‘Scream Queens’ Season 2 Will Be ‘Fun And Wild’ Despite Darker Setting, Chanels Still Intact

Scream Queens Season 2 will reportedly be darker as it will no longer take place in a campus, but in a mental hospital that accommodates some of the world’s most bizarre cases. Emma Roberts, who’s known as the fabulous yet cunning Chanel Oberlin, told E! News that new cast members would join the show.

“We’re adding some incredible new cast members that you’ll find out about soon. It’s going to be fun, it’s going to be wild. We haven’t even read a script yet though, so we actually don’t know what’s going to happen.”

Jamie Lee Curtis, who plays Dean Cathy Munsch, also revealed that Scream Queens Season 2 would be way darker than the first one.

“I think it’ll be dark. I think it’s going to be very dark. It’s in a hospital, [there’s] a lot of darkness in hospitals — dark hallways, scary rooms, sharp objects, a lot of blood, disinfectants.”

The ladies of Kappa Kappa Tau recently reunited at the 2016 Fox Upfront held in New York. Emma, Jamie, Lea Michele, and Keke Palmer did not only pose for photos, but also discussed the story of the show’s new season.

After the campus murders, Dean Munsch opts to leave and travel across the globe. She pens a bestselling book and decides to use her earnings to purchase the mental hospital where the Chanels are checked in after being accused of committing the gruesome campus crimes.

Dean Munsch then operates the hospital and tries to give it a “makeover.” She will be famous for accepting cases that other asylums have given up on. The KKT sorority girls, on the other hand, are now pursuing careers in the medical field because of the training provided by the hospital.

While everything seems to be in its rightful place, Scream Queens will continue to live up to its theme. Show creator Brad Falchuk previously announced that Scream Queens 2 was patterned after the renowned horror flick Halloween, which was also set in a hospital.

The Chanels are definitely still intact although it will be a delight to see how they will adjust to their much simpler life. Emma cannot wait to see if Chanel will be given a “mental hospital chic” wardrobe even if her famous two-storey sorority house closet might not be present in her new home.

As for Hester, also known as the remaining member of the Red Devil team, her character will be crazier. “I’m really excited about it. I get to be even crazier this year than I was last year, if you can believe it!” she said. Hester will again be involved in a murder case but this time, she might be the victim.

Diego Boneta will unfortunately not return for Scream Queens Season 2 after his character Pete got murdered in the first season. Nonetheless, the actor told Wetpaint that he’s grateful for the chance to be a part of the thriller. “It was honestly such an amazing platform for me and such a great experience that it gave me these movies I’m working on right now,” he said.

Replacing Diego are the asylum’s new doctors who will reportedly be in their late twenties. The identities of the doctors are not yet revealed. One Direction’s Harry Styles remains a famous guess although the British crooner is being linked as well to another show, Teen Wolf.

Scream Queens Season 2 will be filmed in Los Angeles as opposed to its previous New Orleans location. There is no confirmed release date yet but the second season will air every Tuesday night.
