Samsung Galaxy Note 6 Will Provide Serious Threat To iPhone 7 Plus

Samsung has a huge hit on its hand with the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, and it looks like the Korean company will continue its success with the upcoming Galaxy Note 6. According to Techno Buffalo, the Note 6 is quite an upgrade from the Note 5 and will include improved S-Pen capabilities.

One of the Galaxy Note 6’s best new software features may be an expansion of ‘Off screen memo,’ which was introduced with the Note 5 and lets you scribble a quick note even when the device’s screen is still locked. A future update would apparently make it possible to expand these notes by scrolling down, leaving more space to record your thoughts.”

The article adds that the user might be able to secure S Note with a fingerprint. This is great for those who use the Galaxy Note as a journal and are afraid that people may see their private thoughts and other things they want to keep to themselves. Another great feature, and one that has been wished for, is the ability to import notes from other apps such as Evernote and OneNote.

According to Tech Times, the Galaxy Note 6 may arrive in August.

“Samsung’s Galaxy Note 6, according to leakster Evan Blass, will be released in the United States on the week of August 15. The information contradicts previous reports that the Galaxy Note 6 will be launched in July. While this timeframe could still hold true for certain markets, it seems Samsung fans in the United States will have to wait a month longer before getting their hands on the device.”

The article adds that a leak posted on a Chinese website claimed the Galaxy Note 6 will have a 5.8-inch QHD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 823 processor, an Adreno 530 GPU, and 6GB of RAM. This will pose a huge challenge to the iPhone 7 Plus (or “Pro” as some people refer to it), scheduled to be released one month later.

According to most sources, the 7 Plus won’t be a huge upgrade from the 6s Plus, but enough of one that may still make people want to upgrade. A photo of the iPhone 7 Plus has made its waves and has even appeared on Mac Rumors. The site talked about the iPhone 7 Plus’ camera

“The most notable change is the inclusion of a much-rumored dual-lens camera with a protruding, pill-shaped enclosure, as opposed to two separate circular camera openings depicted in some online renderings,” reported Joe Rossignol.

Mac Rumors added that the dual-lens camera is accompanied by a microphone and an LED flash, as seen on previous iPhones, while the antenna bands have been relocated to the top and bottom edges of the smartphone. Reportedly, there are also three small dots on the bottom of the iPhone 7 Plus that are likely in place for a Smart Connector, which is a new interface introduced by the iPad Pro.

While Apple’s smartphone business is deflating, Samsung is in a great position to release another blockbuster. The Galaxy S7 and, especially, the Galaxy S7 Edge are Samsung’s best selling smartphones in years. This is all reminiscent of 2012, when iPhone sales slowed down due to the release of the Samsung Galaxy S3.
