Drew Barrymore Talks Divorce From Husband Will Kopelman, Admits She Is The Reason For Split?

Drew Barrymore is putting on a brave face following her divorce from her husband of nearly four years, Will Kopelman. In a recent interview, the Charlie’s Angels star even jokingly claimed that she is the reason for the split.

Early this month, Drew surprised her fans when she announced that she is getting a divorce for the third time. Before Will, the actress was married to Tom Green from 2001 to 2002 and Jeremy Thomas from 1994 to 1995.

Speaking to Good Housekeeping, via Us Weekly, Drew Barrymore shared that her best friend and business partner Nancy Juvonen found out the reason why she kept getting divorced. Barrymore said that every time she gets her heart broken, she talks to Juvonen and try to figure out what went wrong.

Perhaps trying to make light of the situation, Jimmy Fallon’s wife jokingly said that she already figured out why none of her marriage seemed to work.

“She’s like, ‘I did notice that there’s a common denominator problem in all of your relationships and I’d like to identify it right now,'” Barrymore said. “And I’m like, ‘What!? I’ve been waiting! Show me the light!’ She’s like, ‘It’s you.'”

While Drew Barrymore refused to give more details on what caused the divorce, the actress told Entertainment Tonight that the talk of separation has been going on since October 2015. The former couple, however, has yet to file the divorce papers. Drew and Will have two daughters together, Olive, 3, and Frankie, 1.

In a joint statement, Drew and Will told Us Weekly that although their marriage did not work out, their main priority will always be their two daughters. They explained that the impending divorce does not mean that they will no longer treat each other as family.

“Divorce might make one feel like a failure, but eventually you start to find grace in the idea that life goes on.”

Surprisingly, a source told the publication just a few weeks ago that Drew Barrymore and Will Kopelman seemed very much in love when they were spotted at a friend’s wedding in California. An eyewitness said that the two looked “really happy together,” and another source added that Will had his arms around Drew throughout the entire event.

If they truly had been having problems since October of last year, it seems like they did a pretty good job of hiding it from the public. However, in a separate interview with Us Weekly back in November, Drew Barrymore hinted that things are not always going smoothly between them. Just like any other couple, the Blended star explained that they had to compromise from time to time to avoid arguments.

Drew, however, said that she actually did not mind compromising a few things if it will ultimately make their relationship stronger.

“Compromise is about changing yourself for the better, it’s an opportunity for you to become a more functional, better person,” she explained.

Barrymore also shared that after being together for more than four years, they already had a pretty good idea of each others’ likes and dislikes. She added that it is important to accept one’s quirks. Based on the interview, it seemed like the actress had a good grasp of how to make a relationship work. It’s quite depressing to find out that they did not make it through.

In other news, Drew Barrymore had the names of her daughters, Olive and Frankie, tattooed on her wrist.

According to Entertainment Tonight, the decision to get another tattoo was just a spur-of-the-moment thing. Drew Barrymore shared that she thought of the idea in the middle of her yoga class.

“They’re my favorite people on the planet, and just seeing it every day makes me happy,” she shared.
