Robot Invasion Coming To ‘Fallout 4’ In Upcoming DLC

In November last year, Fallout 4 rocked the gaming world so hard it set records on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC platforms. But four months into the release of the game, albeit with some hiccups along the way, the much-awaited downloadable content (DLC) for Fallout 4 has yet to materialize. When exactly are we seeing these DLCs come to life?

Last February, finally, Bethesda finally broke their silence on the Fallout 4 DLCs and announced that three DLCs will be coming to Fallout 4 this 2016. The first DLC, the Automatron DLC, will be coming to Fallout 4 across platforms this month and everyone is excited to get their hands on it.

With hours clocked in the game and dozens of mods to try, Fallout 4 players are sure to get hyped by the upcoming Automatron DLC, which will bring a robot invasion to the wasteland. The official Bethesda announcement on the Automatron DLC for Fallout 4 reads as follows.

“The mysterious Mechanist has unleashed a horde of evil robots into the Commonwealth, including the devious Robobrain. Hunt them down and harvest their parts to build and mod your own custom robot companions. Choose from hundreds of mods; mixing limbs, armor, abilities, and weapons like the all-new lightning chain gun. Even customize their paint schemes and choose their voices!”

Clearly, a robot invasion is ahead for Fallout 4 gamers everywhere! While Bethesda has yet to publish specifics on this upcoming DLC, Game Informer was able to dig up five new achievements added to Fallout 4, which are most likely connected to the Automatron DLC. The achievements, goals, and artwork were published on the Game Informer website but could be seen through Xbox Live, albeit still inaccessible. We are expecting these brand new Fallout 4 achievements, totaling 100 additional points, will be unlocked as soon as the Automatron DLC hits Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC this month.

Note that the photos below are still dimmed since these Fallout 4 achievements are still locked in Xbox Live.

As evident by the DLCs above, three out of the five DLCs are story-related. To give more light to these achievements, Bethesda’s Todd Howard notes the following in a recent interview.

“The first one Automatron has a little quest line and this Pokémon-esque ‘kill robots, get their parts, build your own’ [gameplay]. The robot building is really deep. It’s great.”

The accompanying photo in the official Bethesda announcement on the Automatron DLC, as seen in the photo above, has also been circulating rumors around the Fallout 4 community at Reddit. The photo shows what Fallout 4 gamers believe to be the Sole Survivor in the Mechanist’s Armor standing beside a huge custom robot companion.

EbenHSHD talks about the photo at Reddit.

“With the legs and torso of a Sentry Bot, a right arm of a Robo-brain, and what looks like the head of an Assaultron. However, what I’m excited about is that left arm. We’ve never seen an arm like that before on any robot. That along with the open panels, used perhaps for keeping the gun cool, and the sliver of blue light, I’d say this is our first peak at the new Lighting Chain Gun we will be able to attach to our new metal friends. While this screen shot makes me think your player character wont be able to use the gun, I’m really hoping we can craft a variant that will allow us to use it.”

All else about the Automatron DLC at this point is speculation, and we are sure to confirm this very soon since we’re already in the middle of March.

Hold out for the Automatron DLC coming to Fallout 4 for $9.99 USD separately, or included in the Fallout 4 season pass.
