WWE News: Mick Foley Responds To ‘WrestleMania 32’ Rumors

With nearly three weeks until WrestleMania, the WWE is building their big card to surely leave the fans happy heading into WWE Raw the next night. Right now, Roman Reigns is in the main event against Triple H to challenge for his WWE World Heavyweight championship. While that isn’t the match WWE fans want to see, officials are most-likely going with it for the main event. However, there are other matches on the card that will excite fans.

Dean Ambrose is scheduled to wrestle Brock Lesnar in a Street Fight. Becky Lynch, Charlotte, and Sasha Banks will wrestle in a Triple Threat match for the WWE Divas championship. In the biggest match on the card, Shane McMahon takes on the Undertaker. If McMahon can defeat the Phenom in a Hell in a Cell match, then he will get control of Monday Night Raw. Vince McMahon is on Taker’s side during this epic saga.

Half of the card isn’t set yet. There are three weeks left until the event, so WWE officials have time to decipher what will be best for business. WWE fans already know the Rock will attend WrestleMania 32. He isn’t going to wrestle, but he could have a big role in the event. John Cena already confirmed that he will miss WrestleMania, but there are rumors going around that could indicate that he’ll have a big role in the night.

One rumor that got swept under the rug was one that would bring the WWE Universe on its feet. This man can’t wrestle, but Mick Foley just has to show up to make an impact. Any promo from Mrs. Foley’s Baby Boy brings the fans to their feet. In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Foley addressed those rumors that he was going to appear WrestleMania 32.

“There is a rumor that I will be participating in the show,” Foley said. “I’m not sure how just yet, but I’ll try to add to the excitement of WrestleMania.”

Just to put the rumor into perspective, this is what Mick Foley is talking about.

“WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley is scheduled to return to RAW in the next few weeks for a WrestleMania 32 angle. I was told that as of Tuesday, Foley was not booked for this Monday’s RAW from Chicago so he could appear on the March 14th show from Pittsburgh, the March 21st show from Philadelphia or the March 28th go-home show in Brooklyn but it sounds like it will be either Pittsburgh or Philly.

“We noted earlier this week via The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Foley was booked to have some sort of role at WrestleMania. Speculation is that the RAW appearance will be used to set up a match that he has a non-wrestling role with.”

What makes most sense for the Hardcore Legend to do at WrestleMania 32? If it’s true, then he should simply put over young talent, or get involved with Shane McMahon, the Undertaker, and Vince McMahon. This is reminiscent of when Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose had their big Hell in a Cell match over a year ago.

Foley walked out, cut a brilliant promo and build towards their match the following Sunday. His involvement in WrestleMania can be as simple as a promo. Whether the WWE wants to use Foley at WrestleMania is up to them, but it would be best for business if they did.

He has more microphone ability than nearly everyone in that locker room, which includes both McMahons and Undertaker. A staredown between Foley and Taker right before the Hell in a Cell match would keep the fans glued to their TVs.
