Mariah Carey And James Packer Splitting Over Packer’s ‘Detested’ Habit?
All seemed to be perfect in the romance between superstar diva and her billionaire fiance James Packer. What more could one woman ask for than a rock the size of a small skating rink on her finger and never-ending lavish treatment? The fairy tale relationship that has now got Mariah Carey planning her third dream-like extravagant wedding, which may possibly be held in Tahiti, seems to be just right.
Hollywood Life shares words of an apparent source who indicates that Packer’s cigarette smoking has turned Mariah off from going ahead with the marriage if he does not quit. The publication shares about Carey’s reported qualms with the addictive habit.
“Mariah Carey, 45, is not too happy with her fiance, James Packer’s, 48, one bad addiction! The singer is worried about him smoking cigarettes around her kids and is demanding the billionaire stop his horrible habit. Is this Mariah’s wedding deal breaker? Read on for details.”
It’s being reported that Carey and Packer are enjoying their engagement and are excited to be planning their ceremony, but it’s also clear that any relationship will bring out aspects of those involved, which one may find hard to take. A source close to the couple recently shared with the Sydney Morning Herald about the habit that has started to get to Mariah for more reasons than one.
“It’s her voice she worries about, and the twins too. She doesn’t want them being exposed to James’ cigarette smoke… it’s becoming a bit of an issue.”
Interestingly enough, Carey used to be a regular smoker herself back in her early to late teens. The “Fantasy” singer smoked heavily between the ages of 12 and 18 but has stated in the past that she never wants to go back to the habit. Us Weekly shared Carey’s attitude toward cigarette smoking, which indicates why it may be a bone of contention with the diva and Packer.
“I gave up smoking in one day and never went back. I absolutely detest cigarette smoke now.”
Hollywood Life also shares the words of a source who claims that Carey would love to have kids with Packer one day, which will mean that smoke can be nowhere around the couple’s home. The publication shares on the subject.
“Mariah is ready to have more kids and she would love to have one with her fiancé, James. But she wants to get married and look amazing for her wedding and then work on having the child. For both options the sooner the better.”
However, these words from the apparent insider are in exact opposition to those that came directly from the diva herself early last month, when Mariah stated that she doesn’t plan on having any more children. ET Online shared words the diva spoke on the subject.
“No, [Moroccan and Monroe] are my two babies. I think they would be so jealous because they get upset when I pet the dog. I want them to be safe and protected and around good people. But I want them to be happy.”
Mariah then went on to describe the challenges that come from co-parenting with her supportive ex Nick Cannon.
“It’s hard. It only gets harder, but you know what? We make it work and we do our best.”
