Watch Pakistan Vs. UAE Asia Cup Cricket Live Stream: Must-Win Game For Pakistan As UAE Shoot For Upset

Pakistan face a must-win game against United Arab Emirates in the T20 cricket Asia Cup Monday, after suffering a humiliating loss to India in their tournament opener — an anticlimactic renewal of world cricket’s most intense rivalry that left fans back home in Pakistan seething.

Asia Cup favorites India, who had already thumped host Bangladesh by 45 runs to get the 2016 tournament underway back on February 24, dazzled Pakistan batsmen after winning the toss after inserting their longtime, cross-border rivals.

Two wickets fell in the first four overs and the situation didn’t get much better from there as only two Pakistan batsmen made scores into double digits before being bowled out for very manageable 83 — which India tracked down inside of 16 overs, taking only 85 minutes to pocket the five-wicket win.

But as easy as the win appeared to come for India, Pakistan did manage to put a scare into their rivals, with Mohammad Amir taking three wickets and Mohammad Sami another two. Amir dismissed both Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane in the first four balls, each for naught.

And later Pakistan skipper Afridi got caught in an awkward run-out after notching only two runs.

But Virat Kohli rescued India with a 49-run stand, more than half of what his team needed to dispose of Pakistan.

To find out how to watch a live stream the Pakistan vs. UAE sixth Asia Cup T20 cricket match, see the links in the final paragraph of this article. The match is scheduled to get underway at 7:30 p.m. India Standard Time at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on Monday, February 29.

For fans in the United States, that start time will be 8:30 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, 5:30 a.m. Pacific.

United Arab Emirates dominated a qualifying round to get into the Asia Cup tournament, winning all three of its matches against Afghanistan, Oman and Hong Kong. But facing Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and, on Monday, Pakistan, is a quite literally a whole different league. Now the qualifiers are hoping to grab one upset win to take back to the UAE.

But for Pakistan, a loss on Monday would be a disaster, all but eliminating them from a shot at making the tournament final and forcing them to face the wrath of their fans who were none too pleased at the devastating defeat to India.

Comments made after the match by Afridi that seemed to shrug off the loss to India as less than a world-shaking calamity only stirred up the passions of Pakistan fans.

“Stop making excuses and start playing cricket. You are not children!” scolded former Pakistan Test batsman, lashing out on Pakistan television.

Former Test Captain Mohammad Yousuf delivered a stinging put down as well, makainb a point of praising India star Kohli at the expense of Pakistan batsmen.

“I think Virat Kohli showed how to bat on such a pitch. Tell me on which good ball did our batsmen get out today. Our batsmen can only bat on batting pitches,” Yousuf said. “It is not about losing but about how we lost. At least our bowlers fought hard but our batting was a total flop and the running between the wickets was pathetic.”

Ouch.

Afridi and the Pakistan batsmen get a chance to redeem themselves against UAE before facing a more difficult but equally crucial game against another intense rival, Bangladesh, on Wednesday.
