‘The View’ Host Raven-Symone Is Leaving The US For Canada With Her Entire Family If Republicans Win the Nomination

An interesting discussion on politics and the upcoming presidential elections took place on Thursday’s episode of The View. The hosts discussed a recently conducted poll that showed that some people do not approve of the Emancipation Proclamation. Co-host Raven-Symonè declared her plan to leave the US if a Republican candidate gets “nominated.”

Talk show host Raven-Symonè bravely announced that she and her family will migrate to Canada should a Republican gets nominated.

“My confession for this election is if any Republican gets nominated, I’m gonna move to Canada with my entire family,” The View host revealed during a “Hot Topics” segment they called “election confessions” wherein she and her co-hosts shared some thoughts about the 2016 presidential elections which they had not admitted before.

There have been many people who joked about leaving the U.S if Republican presidential contender Donald Trump gets elected as President of the United States, but Symone said she was serious. She told her co-hosts that she has already prepared the tickets.

“Are you really?” a skeptical Joy Behar asked during the discussion.

“I already have my ticket,” the host said. “I literally bought my ticket, I swear.”

When Behar pointed out that she was not a citizen of Canada, Symonè responded: “It’s okay, I’ll make it, I’ll figure that out.”

Does this mean that Symonè has already packed her bags since there will surely be a Republican nominee in the coming presidential elections? For sure many people are excited to see if the outspoken talk show host will fulfill her promise.

This was not the first time that Symonè has made such controversial remarks. The View host was slammed after revealing that she would probably discriminate against ghetto names like “Watermelondrea,” but later on apologized for the foot-in-mouth moment. As a result, petitions to have the former child star removed from the program have surfaced.

Also, during the “Hot Topics” segment on The View, they talked about a poll, which revealed that 20 percent of Trump supporters are not in favor of former U.S. President Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation, the executive order which freed slaves. The poll also suggested that 17 percent of Trump supporters are undecided.

Candace Cameron Bure believes the questions in the poll were “tricky in the way it was worded” and the questions also seemed to be unrelated.

“How do they feel about feeding Christians to the lions?” Behar retorted while discussing the questions included in the poll.

“It’s meaningful. And yesterday he talked about how glad he was to talk to the under-educated folks. It kind of bothers me that this is what he’s saying is a good thing,” Whoopi Goldberg said of the poll result. She said it does not matter whether the poll was tricky or not; what concerns her is how black people or African-Americans are being referred to.

“We fought a war over that. The North won the war. So what is this executive action?” Behar said. “It was also a war to eliminate slavery. So these people don’t know what they’re talking about.”

Why were the people confused about the meaning of the Emancipation Proclamation? Paula Farris offered that it might be due to ignorance and prejudice while Behar still thinks it has more to do with racial discrimination.

The View will continue to tackle hot issues in the fall as ABC recently renewed the daytime talk show for its 20th season, but it is not clear which hosts will be retained in the program.
