Lamar Odom Continues Recovery, Rekindles Friendship With Rob Kardashian

Lamar Odom has been out of the hospital for nearly a month now, and while the former professional athlete has only been spotted publicly a couple of times, he appears to be doing well. As the drama surrounding his tragic drug overdose plays out on new episodes of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, a February 6 report by the Vine Report claims Lamar Odom continues to receive support from the Kardashian-Jenner family, and has been spending tons of time with them in Los Angeles.

In addition to Khloé seeing Lamar Odom as much as she can when she’s not tending to filming Keeping Up With The Kardashians, or her new talk show, Kocktails With Khloé, Lamar Odom has also been hanging with Kourtney and her kids, Mason, 6; Penelope, 3; and Reign, 1. In fact, Lamar Odom has been spending so much time with Khloé and her family that reconciliation rumors have begun. However, at this point, Khloé appears to be dating James Harden of the Houston Rockets. While she did call off her divorce, the petition was reportedly dropped only to make it easier for her to be involved in Lamar Odom’s ongoing recovery.

According to an OK! Magazine report at the end of last month, Rob “sided with his sister” Khloé when she and Lamar Odom parted ways amid rumors of drug use and infidelity. Now, following Lamar Odom’s overdose and Rob’s diabetes diagnosis, the two have rekindled their years-long friendship.

“They really want to help each other get better,” the insider said.

“Rob’s visits with [Lamar Odom] of late have motivated a great deal of the progressions Rob is experiencing at this moment,” a source continued, via CanIndia News. “Rob was so disheartened by Lamar’s circumstance that he felt the desire to get on the way to wellbeing.”

Because Lamar Odom has suffered a number of heartbreaking losses in recent years, including the passing of his longtime best friend Jamie, whom fans often saw on Khloé & Lamar, he is especially appreciative of his second chance at life and hopes to see Rob get through his current health crisis, as well.

“[Lamar Odom] looked as some of his dearest companions passed on a year ago, and he told Rob that he didn’t need anything awful to transpire,” the source continued. “[Lamar Odom] advised Rob to take better care of himself particularly now that he has diabetes, and Rob tuned in.”

Lamar Odom and Rob were extremely close for years when Khloé was still married to the athlete, but after the two split, they seemingly went their separate ways. In the years that followed, Rob’s weight reportedly increased by over 100 pounds. At the same time, he was believed to be struggling with depression, as his mother, Kris Jenner, revealed on Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Despite Rob’s struggles with weight gain, depression, and now diabetes, the reality star turned sock designer appears to be doing quite well in recent weeks due to his new relationship with Blac Chyna, a former friend of his sister, Kim, and the ex-girlfriend of Kylie Jenner’s current boyfriend, Tyga.

As Keeping Up With The Kardashians Season 11 continues to air on the E! Network on Sundays at 9 p.m., fans will see more of the fallout of Odom’s overdose, and possibly, he may turn up on the show during its latter episodes.
