Happy Birthday Bradley Cooper! You’ve Had A Great Year

Today, January 5, 2016, is Bradley Cooper’s birthday. He’s 41 today, and you could argue that his year of being 40 was easily one of the best years of his life as far as his career is concerned. He’s had some role in Hollywood for the last 20 years, but it hasn’t been until the last few years that he’s been discovered for the gem he is.

Some are even saying he’s the new George Clooney, the sophisticated bachelor everyone wants to be with. He’s got the looks, the talent, and decades of film-making ahead of him. Let’s take a look at some of Cooper’s accomplishments during his 40th year.

He carried on the name of People’s “The Sexiest Man Alive.”

Some stars are awarded this title, but don’t live up to the name very well. But Bradley’s still got it, even four years after he was awarded the title. He’s currently in a serious relationship with Irina Shayk, a Russian model and actress, and the couple are considered to be one of the hottest couples in Hollywood.

Rocked it as the voice of a tiny raccoon named Rocket in Guardians of the Galaxy.

Okay, so technically he was 39 when this film came out, but it was only a few months before he turned 40, and people certainly hadn’t stopped talking about his stellar performance by then. The guy doesn’t even need to appear in person for people to love him. His voice is enough.

He’s got a great hairstyle.

There were a few years in there when Bradley’s hair lacked some of the finesse it has today, but after years of perfecting the look, he’s finally got it. His sleek, combed back hairstyle with curls at the end is enough to make any girl swoon.

He became buddy buddy with one of America’s favorite people, Jennifer Lawrence.

2015 marked the release of yet another film in which he starred alongside Jennifer Lawrence in the film Joy. Cooper and Lawrence have built a budding, professional friendship together to become one of America’s favorite movie couples. The chemistry between them on set is great, and cinema seems to continue calling for repeat performances of that action. Being seen with Jennifer Lawrence on camera has been very good for his career, as well as hers.

He became an American hero for his role in American Sniper.

In no way did Cooper replace the heroic Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle, but he became beloved after such a powerful performance. The retelling of one of America’s most recently famed war heroes helped Cooper to not only make a name for himself as a solo actor, but also tell a beautifully tragic story in a powerful way. Kyle’s legacy will forever be immortalized because of Bradley Cooper’s powerful performance.

He took a star role in Burnt.

Though the reviews for the movie Burnt were mixed, it still gave Cooper another shot at the big screen to make America fall in love with him again.

He fought to reduce the gender pay gap in Hollywood.

When his co-star, Jennifer Lawrence, wrote her rant about the gender pay gap, Bradley Cooper wanted in on the action. He vowed to begin revealing his salary to his female co-stars to aid in their contract negotiations. He’s a regular freedom-fighter.

Happy birthday, Bradley Cooper. It’s been a pretty incredible year. Here’s to forty more years of breaking hearts and stealing the limelight.
