Chris Hemsworth Shares Story About Huge Weight Loss For Role
Chris Hemsworth is showing off a huge amount of weight loss after preparing for a recent movie. MSN shared that Chris lost a ton of weight for his role in the movie In The Heart of The Sea. He thinned down some first for the movie, Black Hat, and then took off more weight for this new role. Hemsworth spoke out and shared how hard it was for him to take the weight off.
“When you’re already starting off lean, its brutal to chew through that kind of weight. Every pound feels like a kilogram.”
In this new movie, Chris Hemsworth stars as real-life first mate Owen Chase, who served on the whaling ship, Essex, and ended up stranded at sea after a whale destroyed the ship. Ron Howard shared that the entire crew had to work out every single day, even when they were filming. They had to lose the weight fast, but also in a healthy way. Hemsworth and the others were only eating 500 calories a day. Sometimes actors don’t lose the weight in a safe way, so at least Ron Howard watched out for them and made sure that they did it that way. Hemsworth went to his Twitter to show off the weight loss, and he looks a lot different from when he played the character Thor.

People recently got the chance to meet up with Chris Hemsworth, and he talked about how he doesn’t want to let being an actor change him. Hemsworth spends a lot of time in Los Angeles, and he is doing all that he can to stay grounded, even though he knows it is hard.
“You just kind of lose touch with reality a bit here. You drive down the street and you’re constantly reminded of everything you’re either involved in or not involved in. It’s exhausting.”
Hemsworth actually found a way to stay grounded, and he did this by moving his wife, Elsa Pataky, and their three children, India Rose, 3, and twins Tristan and Sasha, 1, from Malibu to Australia, which is where he is from originally. Before that, Hemsworth’s entire family was living in Malibu together. He shared that even though Jennifer Lawrence says you shouldn’t complain about the paparazzi, he is doing it anyway, and Chris is obviously not a fan of them. Chris Hemsworth gets to choose his own roles, and loves that he is in that position now. He spoke out about it.
“Being part of a franchise like The Avengers is the dream scenario. I’ve got this thing that’s going to keep me relevant, and I can still explore other things in between, do a few films no one cares about.”
Chris Hemsworth shared a photo of himself at the premiere for his new movie while in Mexico. Hemsworth is hanging out with the fans and looking really happy with a smile on his face. He looks great in these pictures, and you can tell that Hemsworth has already put back on at least some of the weight he lost for this film. No word yet on how Chris was able to put the weight back on.

In The Heart of the Sea will hit theaters on December 11. Chris Hemsworth has obviously lost a ton of weight for this role, and viewers will hardly recognize him.
