Lamar Odom Update: Khloe Kardashian Unable To Visit Husband Due To Staph Infection?

Lamar Odom’s wife, Khloe Kardashian, is no longer able to visit him in the hospital.

“Khloé is devastated that she can’t go to the hospital and visit [Lamar Odom],” a source close to the Keeping up with the Kardashians star told People Magazine on November 23. “That’s the thing that is bothering her most about the infection.”

According to the report, Lamar Odom’s wife’s staph infection, which she contracted at some point in recent weeks, has prevented her from continuing to stick by Lamar Odom as he recovers from a reported drug overdose, which allegedly occurred on October 13 at Dennis Hof’s Love Ranch in Pahrump, Nevada.

Although Lamar Odom has yet to speak out on what really happened during his time at the ranch, there have been reports that claim he was using drugs and partying with prostitutes for days leading up to his hospitalization. Then, once he was hospitalized, Lamar Odom was deemed to be in a coma, and he remained in a coma from Tuesday until Friday of that week.

Now, over a month after he was hospitalized, Lamar Odom has been stationed for weeks at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and while his wife had previously been by his side throughout his medical care, she has been forced to stay away from him until she is clear of infection.

“It’s been an emotional and difficult few weeks for Khloé and now she’s sick,” People’s source explained.

When Lamar Odom was initially hospitalized in Nevada, his wife boarded a private jet with her mother, Kris Jenner, and sister, Kim, and remained at his side until he was transported to Los Angeles weeks later.

Now, Kardashian is taking antibiotics and getting rest as she continues to recover from her staph infection. Once she does, she is expected to travel back to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where Lamar Odom remains.

“Khloé has been amazing throughout [Lamar Odom]’s recovery,” an insider explained. “Without her support and love, [Lamar Odom] would have been very lonely.”

In other Lamar Odom news, Kris Jenner is said to have attempted to get him to sign a contract to return to Keeping Up With The Kardashians, and share his medical crisis with fans. However, once Lamar Odom’s wife got word of the news, she allegedly shut down the idea.

“[She] confronted Kris after she found out that her mother tried to get [Lamar Odom] to sign the contract in order to be able to use the footage that has been shot for next season’s show,” a source told Radar Online earlier this month.

“Kris knows that that having this be a huge part of Season 11 would be great for ratings because viewers will definitely tune in.”

However, while Jenner is convinced Lamar Odom’s return would be a huge draw for viewers, her daughter isn’t sold on the idea and may not even discuss what Lamar Odom is going through on the show.

“She told Kris that [Lamar Odom] is not a part of the show any more and neither she, nor him, will make money off of this,” Radar’s source explained. “But in the end, Kris knows that she is going to win this fight because she calls the shots.”

No word yet on whether or not Lamar Odom will be seen, or spoken of, during the 11th season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. The show airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on the E! Network.
