Vanilla Ice died today in a car crash. Except that he didn’t.

Facebook and Twitter were flooded with rumors today that the “Ice Ice Baby” rapper had bit the dust in a car crash.

According to rumors, here’s how Vanilla Ice died:

“Vanilla Ice died in a single vehicle crash on Route 80 between Morristown and Roswell. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics responding to the vehicle accident and was identified by photo ID found on his body. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been a factor in this accident – June 17, 2012.”

E! Online reports that the rumor was started by Global Associated News, the internet’s premiere site for death hoax stories. GAN reports that Ice was traveling at about 95 mph in a 55 mph zone and that a toxicology report was currently being conducted. Of course, the whole incident never happened.

Global Associated News has already killed off Mr. Bean, Adam Sandler, Robin Williams, Usher, and James Blunt this year.

Ice, real name Robert Van Winkle, decided to dispel the rumors himself

Ice wrote on Twitter:

Vanilla Ice may not be in the spotlight too much anymore but he did just land an acting gig in an Adam Sandler movie. Vanilla Ice makes a cameo in Sandler’s “That’s My Boy.”

Did you believe the Vanilla Ice death hoax?

  1. Unreal at how a person can come up with a lie like that. But what is really amazing is at how many people tweet about it not really knowing the facts they just go with it, as if they don't know how to think for themselves. There are som many full grown idiots out there it is unbelieveable. Sad part is, they know who they are.

  2. Well, I must say I'm disappointed…
