‘Vanderpump Rules’ Cast Reacts To Stassi Schroeder’s Return: ‘We Were All Like, Why?’
Vanderpump Rules stars Katie Maloney and Scheana Marie were just as surprised as everyone else when they discovered Stassi Schroeder would be returning to the Bravo reality series for season 4 after quitting the show in May.

“When we all found out she was returning, we were all like, ‘Why?'” Maloney told Entertainment Tonight on November 2. “Like, so confused and suspicious about the timing, because she had so publicly trashed all us and the show, the fact that she’s now come crawling back, we’re all like, ‘We’re not gonna make this easy on you.'”
In May, Schroeder announced she had quit Vanderpump Rules weeks after filming the season 3 reunion show, which featured her admitting to starring in a sex tape. At the time, she claimed she was happy to have finally found the confidence she needed to walk away from the financial security of the show, as well as the fame that came with it. Months later, however, Schroeder had returned to Vanderpump Rules, and in the trailer, she was seen reuniting with both her former boss, Lisa Vanderpump, and her former boyfriend, Jax Taylor.
During Vanderpump Rules season 3, Schroeder and Maloney had an epic falling out after Maloney decided to make amends with Scheana Marie and travel to Miami with her boyfriend, Tom Schwartz, for Scheana and Mike Shay’s bachelor/bachelorette celebration. Although Maloney and Scheana weren’t exactly best friends at the time, their relationship was considered to be a betrayal by Schroeder, who hasn’t gotten along with Scheana for years, and she ultimately chose to end the friendship.
Although the end of Schroeder and Maloney’s friendship on Vanderpump Rules appeared to be upsetting for both parties, Maloney has since moved on, and today, she and Scheana are the best of friends.
“We’ve all grown,” Scheana told Entertainment Tonight of her Vanderpump Rules co-star. “I feel like Katie’s changed so much, but in the most positive way ever and grown into someone that I cannot not see myself being friends with for the rest of my life. Like, she’s my go-to girl.”
“I have a threshold for everything, so, I threw my hands up, and when I did that, I was free to do what I wanted, and have opinions about things, and not be judged or criticized for it,” Maloney said of the end of her friendship with Schroeder.

Although Schroeder hasn’t yet been seen on the fourth season of Vanderpump Rules, she was a hot topic of conversation during last night’s premiere. On the show, as her ex-boyfriend, Jax Taylor, and his mother spoke to Lisa Vanderpump at Villa Blanca, Taylor’s mom admitted she only liked Schroeder at first. Then, she claimed, she saw the personality of the Vanderpump Rules star change for the worse.
During seasons 1 and 2 of Vanderpump Rules, Schroeder was featured in a full-time role. Then, ahead of season 3, she took on a demoted role, which meant she was seen only during some episodes, instead of being seen as a main cast member. Now, as Vanderpump Rules kicks off its fourth season, Schroeder’s role remains unconfirmed, but judging by her absence during the first episode, she will be featured in either a part-time or guest role.
