Dee Jay Daniels Arrested: Former Child Star From ‘The Hughleys’ Charged With Murder


Dee Jay Daniels, the former child star who played Michael Hughley on “The Hughleys,” has been arrested for murder.

According to Hollywood.com, Daniels has been charged with stabbing a man to death in Stockton, California. Daniels, 23, and two other men attacked 26-year-old John Joseph outside of a club and stabbed him to death.

An unidentified woman was also injured in the incident.

The stabbing occurred in August, 2011. Daniels was one of three men arrested for the murder of John Joseph.

UPI reports that Daniels has been charged with pre-meditated murder, attempted pre-mediated murder, street terrorism (gang activity), and possession of marijuana.

Daniels, real name Dorjan Lydell, is currently being held in San Joaquin County jail. If convicted, he faces life in prison.

Dee Jay Daniels has appeared in TV shows ER, Family Matters, Coach, and Grace Under Fire. In 2005 he appeared in his first movie, Sky High.

His most recent role came in 2006 when he played Terrell Pierce in an episode of Cold Case.
