Jewel Kilcher, the Grammy winning singer best known for her 90s album Pieces of You, has decided to alter her appearance for her upcoming role in the Lifetime made-for-television flick Ring of Fire.
Besides switching up her hair color and sporting blue contact lenses, Jewel has made one change that will undoubtedly stand out to her fans — she has fixed her teeth.
“Here I am as June in my trailer with her blue eyes and perfect teeth #ringoffire,” tweeted Jewel from her official Twitter account on Tuesday.
The Foolish Games singer also included a photograph (seen below) so fans could check out her stunning transformation.
Despite the dramatic visual difference a new set of chompers makes on the singer, Yahoo! points out Jewel — who has repeatedly told media she will not fix her crooked smile — most likely hasn’t actually fixed her teeth for the movie role but is instead wearing dental caps to achieve the look.
In the Ring of Fire, slated to premiere later this year on Lifetime, Jewel is playing the lead role of June Cash.
TheBoot.com has the scoop on the upcoming film’s plot:
“Ring of Fire” is based on June’s son John Carter Cash’s book, Anchored in Love: An Intimate Portrait of June Carter Cash. It follows June from her early childhood in the rural mountains of Virginia through her rise to fame with the Carter Sisters (played in the movie by Grammy-winning sibling group, the Peasall Sisters). It also takes an intimate look at her first two marriages and her tumultuous, yet storybook romance with the American treasure who would become her third husband, Johnny Cash.
