Exes Jennifer Garner & Ben Affleck Try To Make A Huge Profit Off Marital Mansion, Property Listed At $45M

Almost four months since announcing their divorce, former couple Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck are reportedly putting their house up for sale, and the price is much higher than what they paid to buy it.

Garner and Affleck, who formally announced their imminent divorce in June, are currently looking for interested buyers who are willing to shell out $45 million for their Pacific Palisades mansion in California. The two even hired one of the top brokers in L.A. to sell their large one-storey home, according to Variety. The exes bought the property for $17.55 million back in 2009 from producer Brian Grazer, who originally put a $27 million price for the compound.

The mansion was designed in the 1930s by architect Cliff May and was owned by actor Gregory Peck in the late ’40s and ’50s before Grazer bought the property in 1992.

When Garner and her husband bought the 8,800 square foot home, it already had five bedrooms and eight bathrooms. The property has two separate secondary structures; one houses an art studio, a gym, an office, and two more bathrooms. The estate also features a guest house with two bedrooms, a leisure lounge, three bathrooms, and a state-of-the-art media room.

The outdoor part of the property includes a half-court basketball court, a swimming pool and stylish cabanas, a mini soccer field, and a terrace that overlooks the rural Sullivan Canyon. The huge property is very private as it has an extensive gated driveway lined with trees. It sits on a three-acre lot bordering posh beach town Santa Monica and Malibu.

Since buying the mansion, Garner and Affleck have made some renovations on the estate. The ranch- style home was actually under renovation when the former celebrity couple announced their divorce in June. According to a source, the plan was to lease neighbor Brooke Shields’ home during the renovation period before returning to their house, while Affleck would reside in one of the secondary homes on the property so he could also look after their three kids.

“The contracts haven’t been signed yet and it hasn’t been worked out if (Ben) will move in or Jen, as well,” a source revealed. “But they are figuring that out. He still plans to live on their property with Jen and the kids. This is just a temporary solution while the renovations are going on.”

However, an insider alleged that Garner and husband were still living at their Pacific Palisades mansion. The two have yet to reveal where they will live after they sold their property. Moreover, Garner’s camp refuted the rumors that she is pregnant with their fourth child. Pregnancy rumors surfaced after Garner was spotted wearing a loose blouse that created an illusion of a baby bump. News about their reconciliation was not true, either. Garner is on good terms with Affleck after their split and, apparently, selling their marital home signifies the finality of their decision. Affleck was romantically linked to his children’s nanny, Christine Ouzonian.

Garner shares three children with Affleck: Violet, nine; Seraphina Rose, six; and Samuel, three. The main issue in question now is how they will divide their assets and the proceeds from the sale of their home. Their net worth would possibly be divided evenly since they stayed together for many years. However, it is still not clear whether or not the extramarital issue involving the actor will affect their financial arrangement.

Affleck also owns a lavish riverfront property with a posh plantation and a massive house in the southern part of Savannah, Georgia, which he purchased for more than $7 million back in 2003.
