Zelda Williams, Robin Williams’ Daughter, Mourns Suicide Of Jim Carrey Girlfriend Cathriona White: What Happened?

Zelda Williams, the daughter of deceased comedian Robin Williams, is described as heartbroken over what’s being viewed as the suicide of Cathriona White, the former girlfriend of Jim Carrey. Zelda is remembering her own tragedy over the loss of Williams while feeling grief-stricken over the young woman’s death, reported People.

“Heartbroken to continue to watch sweet, kind souls be consumed by darkness. May it never hurt less, so we never grow numb to the loss,” tweeted Zelda.

In addition, Williams’s daughter asked her fans to honor @littleirishcat by visiting Pieta House’s Web site (http://www.pieta.ie) to learn about the work that the suicide prevention organization does.

“They do great work in her wonderful home country. RIP Cat,” added Zelda.

As Williams, 26, remembers her father while mourning the tragic death of the 28-year-old ex-girlfriend of Carrey, who was born in Ireland, many are asking what happened to Cathriona, and questioning whether she followed in the tragic footsteps of Robin Williams, who committed suicide.

Jim had been with White in a roller-coaster romance, getting together, then splitting up, then getting together, then splitting up, for three years.

“[I am] deeply saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona,” said Carrey. “She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled.”

Jim expressed his heartfelt grief for those who cared White and loved her, including family and friends. The Los Angeles Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter could only reveal the time of death, and the fact that she was declared dead at a residence, leaving the formal cause of the tragedy to be revealed only after an autopsy.

But the question of what led to what appears to be a suicide is causing anguish for Zelda in remembering the loss of her talented father, Robin Williams, reported E! News.

When Zelda learned that Cathriona had been discovered dead in her apartment and that suicide was reportedly the cause, Williams seemed as shocked and saddened as her ex-boyfriend, Jim Carrey.

White was found dead in her apartment—the result of an apparent suicide.

“My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her. We have all been hit with a lightning bolt,” said Carrey.

But it was an emotional lightening bolt that has become sadly familiar for Zelda when she learned that Williams had, like Cathriona, been discovered dead at his residence after killing himself.

White and Jim began dating after they met in 2012. Although she was raised in Ireland, she traveled to Los Angeles with the goal of succeeding as a makeup artist.

For Zelda, honoring Williams’ legacy by doing charity work at the Challenged Athletes Foundation and St. Jude’s has become a passion. In addition, Zelda is a frequent user of social media for sharing her views on emotional well-being, depression, suicide, and mental health.

“I will do everything else in my (decidedly less athletic) power to continue Dad’s legacy and support the charities he loved that I’ve watched firsthand change thousands of lives,” wrote Williams.

But when it comes to the inside story of how Cathriona, 30, died, the Assistant Chief Coroner is now revealing that pills were discovered adjacent to White’s body when she passed, reported Us Weekly.

In addition, Winter revealed that a suicide note was found. He did not provide details on the pills or suicide note. Pending an autopsy, the cause of death is unknown, with toxicology tests sometimes requiring more than two months.

For White’s family, a light is gone from their lives, they said. Remembering her life, they asked for privacy in grieving.

“Cathriona was a shining light in our lives who was loved deeply by her entire family. We will miss her terribly,” said her family.

White and Carrey had their most recent break-up on September 24. Her final tweet came then.

“Signing off Twitter, I hope I have been a light to my nearest and dearest. [Love] to you all.”
