‘Makey Makey’, The New Invention That Turns Everyone Into An Inventor [VIDEO}


Two MIT PhD students have created a new invention called “Makey Makey” that allows for anyone to become an inventor.

Coined ‘An Invention Kit For Everyone’, this much anticipated project takes everyday items and turns them into a usable touchpad that interacts with your computer.

Apparently, all you have to do is surf the internet and find something that you want to interact with. Once on the site, their product allows you to connect random objects that serve as a keyboard.

Makey Makey gives several examples in which you can use their invention with, such as using banana’s as piano keys, or even using a hand drawn controller to play pac man with.

“We believe that everyone is creative, inventive and imaginative,” write the students on their Kickstarter page. “We believe that everyone can create the future and change the world. So we have dedicated our lives to making easy-to-use invention kits.”

The California based company launched their Kickstarter with hopes of raising $25,000 to get their project started, but with 11 days still remaining in their fundraiser they’ve already reached over $368,000.

For those unfamiliar with Kickstarter, it is website that was created as a new way to fund creative projects. The Kickstarter website proclaims that they are powered by a unique all-or-nothing funding method where projects must be fully-funded or no money changes hands.

Priced at only $35, this easy inventors kit is sure to be a hit with kids and adults everywhere trying to get those creative juices flowing.

Makey Makey is expected to start shipping out their products by August.
