Carrie Underwood Holds Down No. 1 Spot for Second Straight Week on Billboard 200

Country singer and American Idol standout Carrie Underwood continued her reign this Wednesday as she enjoyed her second straight week at the top of the Billboard 200 album chart.

Carrie’s latest album, Blown Away, sold another 120,000 copies beating Adele‘s smash hit, 21, which sold 101,000 copies and was actually expected to reach the top of the charts this week because of the Mother’s Day holiday.

Blown Away is Underwood’s first number-one album, of three, to stay at the top more than seven days.

Taking the No. 3 spot this week on the Billboard 200 is Lionel Richie’s country album “Tuskegee,” which sold 71,000 copies and jumped from the sixth position.

Filling the remaining top 5 are the Now 42 compilation, which falls a spot to four, and Norah Jones’ new album Little Broken Hearts, which slides three places to No. 5.

Lower on the chart come two new debuts within the top ten: Silversun Pickups’ Neck Of The Wood at number six and Tank’s This Is How I Feel at number nine.
