Time names 4chan founder Moot the most influential person in the world

Time Magazine has named Christopher Poole (aka Moot), the founder of 4chan, the most influential person in the world.

The annual most influential person poll included as nominees US President Barack Obama, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, Angelina Jolie, the Dali Lama, and many many other well known world leaders and celebrities.

In an open, free and transparent vote, Moot recieved 16,794,368 votes for an average influence rating of 90 (out of a possible 100). Runner up, Malaysian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, received 2,316,278 votes with an influence rating of 47/ 100.

Asking an online audience to name the most influential person when an online figure is on the ballot is kind of like going into a bar in the United States on a Sunday afternoon in November and asking patrons to identify the best sport in the world. In the latter case, I think that American football is going to get many more votes than cricket.
