‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 12 May See An End To Another Couple
Grey’s Anatomy is full of relationship ups and downs, and season 12 is going to be no different. Right now it seems like no relationship can ever last on the show. Last season possibly saw the end to Callie and Arizona’s marriage forever, while Meredith had the difficult decision to pull the plug on a brain dead Derek. The end of the season saw April and Jackson at a standstill, and now another relationship may be on the rocks.
Season 11 of Grey’s Anatomy saw Alex Karev and Jo Wilson agree to buy a house together, taking the next step in their relationship. However, Camilla Luddington, who plays Jo on the show, admitted that she does not see it lasting for much longer. The couple have remained on good terms for three years now. While they’ve had their ups and downs, they have always worked through them. She is certain something bad is coming, and it could happen in season 12.
With speculations that Katherine Heigl could return for the 12th season, it could have something to do with Alex’s ex-wife. Luddington has already said that she would be happy to see her return.
According to Master Herald, Luddington said that she also sees the relationship moving forward during this season of Grey’s Anatomy. She could see Alex proposing and wedding bells happening. The question is whether they will survive after that. Marriage has never proven to be a definite way to keep couples together on the show. In fact, the majority of marriages have broken down throughout the years.
With so few couples now on the show, it certainly seems like things are on the cards for Alex and Jo. It will depend on how it all plays out for Jackson and April, and whether they will be the main focus for the season, along with Richard Webber and Catherine Avery.
One new relationship that looks like it will start during the season is Amelia Shepherd and Owen Hunt. The two were getting closer during season 11, but never officially took the final steps to decide that they were in fact together. Will they be on the up while Jo and Alex are on their downward spiral?
International Business Times also believes that trouble is in the cards for Jo and Alex. Jo’s house purchase may have been a way to see if Alex was really ready to settle down, and Alex may eventually see through it in season 12. Filming for the new season of Grey’s Anatomy has only just started, but the season premiere is expected at the end of September.
