‘Days Of Our Lives’: Philip Kiriakis Returning With New Actor

Days of Our Lives is about to get so good. In addition to many fan favorite characters returning to Salem, Philip Kiriakis is also coming home. However, a new actor will portray the character.

Soap Opera Digest reports that One Live to Live alum John-Paul Lavoisier is the new Philip Kiriakis, and he’ll start airing on Days of Our Lives in December.

According to the report, the role of adult Philip has been played by actors Jay Kenneth and Kyle Brandt in the past, and it wasn’t revealed if either of those two actors were asked to reprise the role. However, Days is getting a good replacement in John-Paul Lavoisier, who knows his way around a soap opera.

As many Days of Our Lives fans know, Philip Kiriakis is the son of Victor Kiriakis and Kate Roberts. He has many ties and family members in the town and is coming back home at the perfect time.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the soap’s 50th anniversary is coming up this fall, and tons of fan favorite characters are returning to celebrate the event. Characters such as Bo Brady, Sami Brady, Steve “Patch” Johnson, and more will be back home this fall.

Meanwhile, Philip’s biggest storylines were always with Shawn Brady and Belle Black, who are also returning this fall, so it makes sense to have Phillip back now that they are also coming home.

Philip, Shawn, and Belle were all best friends in high school, but things got messy as they entered their early adult years. Shawn and Belle were high school sweethearts, but Phillip and Belle ended up married. When Belle gave birth to her daughter, Claire, Philip believed she was also his daughter, and when it turned out that Claire actually belonged to Shawn the drama really heated up.

Eventually, Philip left Salem as did Shawn and Belle, who are now married. Fans are now so excited to have them all back as Days of Our Lives is really turning itself around. New writers have been hired, characters are being shuffled out, and old favorites are returning. The soap’s ratings are on the rise, according to Soap Shows, and fans are finding a renewed love for Salem and its citizens.

One thing is for sure, Days fans are in for some great episodes ahead. Make sure to set your DVRs!
