Valeria Lukyanova: Model Seeks To Be Real-Life Barbie Doll [Photos]

Posted: April 23, 2012

real barbie feature

Valeria Lukyanova is a living Barbie doll. She has big glassy eyes, a tiny waist, straight platinum blonde hair and large breasts. She doesn’t have the exact measurements of the famous girl from Mattel, but in the real world, she comes as close as you can get.

Lukyanova claims to be the “the most famous Russian woman on the Russian-language Internet.” Her Youtube page, Amatue, has millions of views and her Facebook page has a few thousand likes.

The International Business Times reports that the 21-year-old model has had plastic surgery to achieve her real-life Barbie doll look. She also spends a lot of time in the makeup chair to achieve the flawless skin and glassy, wide-eyed look of a doll.

Lukyanova’s strange appearance has some people claim that she’s an elaborate photo-shop hoax. Her Facebook page, however, is full of photos of the model without her makeup so it seems that the model is indeed real.

But that doesn’t mean people are a fan of her looks.

One Twitter user wrote: ”She looks not only ugly, but ridiculous.”

valeria lukyanova

Another asked: “Isn’t unhealthy obsession on looking like a Barbie doll a part of her identity though?”

valeria lukyanova

Another wrote: “A woman with completely perfect features is a boring woman.”

real barbie doll

According to a Huffing Post article from 2011, if Barbie were an actual woman she’d have unrealistic proportions and would most likely be anorexic. Galia Slayen wrote:

“If Barbie were an actual women, she would be 5’9″ tall, have a 39″ bust, an 18″ waist, 33″ hips and a size 3 shoe. Barbie would have a BMI of 16.24 and fit the weight criteria for anorexia…. If Barbie was a real woman, she’d have to walk on all fours due to her proportions.”

What do you think of Valeria Lukyanova? Is she beautiful? Strange looking?

Here are some more photos of the real-life Barbie doll.

Actually the new Barbies look a little better than the old ones. Some have quite nice natural expressions. How about finding someone who looks like a Bratz doll? Now that would be something.

  30. F dragutza imi place.>:D<.

  31. She had a goal and worked hard to achieve it. It is senseless and cruel to criticize her after the fact. I hope she lives a long and healthy life.

  32. Only a matter of time before more are discovered, Ahhh the world of Facebook, but same as with Hoax Theroies, What is real hat isn't, we created this "Alternate Universe". But she is very beautiful…

I don't think it's anyone's place to judge her. We advocate telling people not to judge someone for their looks or weight but what's on the inside, and who that person is. Personally, I think she's gorgeous. She was before, and is so, now. If this is what she wants, so be it. Who are we to judge anyone for how they want to look? We'd be hypocrites for talking about her decisions then turning around to take up for someone being bullied for being overweight or looking different.

  42. Shes gorgeous. I would love to do a shoot with her.

I think she looks pretty and cute, if this is how she wants to look, its her choice. There are more important things going on in the world to focus on, why are we judging her, its her life, her body.

  46. I like her!
Boring? No way. Contrarily, she's very interesting!

Just we don't hear about surgeries gone bad, and that she lied about getting surgeries.

    She's epic!

  47. Agree!!

Oh, she'll definitely live a long life–plastic preserves!

  49. Ya, its really too bad that she didn't work as hard maybe going to school and trying to become a useful, positive influence and contributor to society. But the rest of us need some entertainment now and again to break the monotony

  50. Too bad she is anorexic.

  51. are you sure she is anorexic?! she is just slim…not necessarily anorexic…

  52. She just helps prove that people are idiots.

  53. To me she looks like a wax statue. She also looks like a Stepford wife.

I give her credit…she really does look like a barbie…at least as close as physically possible.

She is the closest one I have seen out of the many ones who have made such a claim.

    I think she looks cool…freakish…yet cool. :-)

  58. Poopp Rism
    Apr 30, 2012

She does actually look like one.

  59. Well….if you have absolutely no other asipirations in life…why the hell not, eh?
We have the technology, so let's waste it on people who value and uphold only the exterior of things.
The vanity aspects of this is insane. We are in a day and age where altering one's appearance due to digusting narcissism is becoming more and more accepted. T
his is beyond body modifications of tattoos and piercings…..this is downright hilarious, as well as depressing.

The mental health of people like this shoild be studied….because we SHOULD embrace who we are. Period.
Mutilating oneself for some man-made concept of what is "ideal" is above and beyond mentally disturbed. Was she deformed before? Why is this person praised for being "strong" and "doing what she wants"? What a spoiled trashy brat attitude. How is it acceptable that she is encouraged to "feel good about herself" by severe plastic surgery?

This isn't "passing judgement", this is observing obvious demented behavior of highly distrubed individuals.
Poor thing…if only she invested in her brain….or learning a skill….or attempting to do something to better the world or her community as a whole.
There would be a lot less of these desperate lifeless inflated humanoids, and more people actually applying themselves toward admirable purposes in life if we actually learned what it means to serve a higher purpose, to accomplish more than spending our whole lives obsessively looking "perfect".
She is not fufilling any admirable purpose. She's no one to look up to or admire.
Women like this are allowing women's progress to decline rapidly.
She's another shiny frilly plastic empty vain entitled laughable moron with a diseased brain cavity.

You make a valid point ONLY when talking about people who are treating their body in a healthy manner. If she's not keeping proper care of her body, then we can judge her for it and encourage her to stop what she's doing.

  62. She looks cool. Being slim doesn't mean your anorecix.

  63. She is a 27 y.o. house wife, not a 21 y.o. model

  64. Danimule Fernandez
    May 4, 2012

John Gomez No, you can't. If it doesn't affect you, it's none of your business. Your argument follows the same principle as the US Government wasting billions of dollars a year incarcerating people for possession of illegal narcotics, because it THINKS it has people's best interests in mind. People can alter their body if they want to and don't have to be judged by people who think it's harming them. Even if it was, it's not up to you John Gomez, Mr. He-Who-Thinks-He's-Intelligent-Yet-Is-A-Fucking-Idiot.

  77. Amy Gutierrez what a cruel thing to say to somebody. Aside from your incorrect attempt at *Your're I can assure you any arguement you provide toward Lauren will be ethically incorrect. This girl is not 'real'. I am sure real life Barbie is probably suffering from some form mental instability, and a very empty bank account. I give the girl props for the 'attempt' at perfection but it is just cruel that society has decided to look upon these stunts as 'perfection'.. The girl isn't the issue, the idea that girls work towards all over the world is the issue. Cruel times Indeed.

  81. She is not ugly by any means but her face is a little disturbing. kinda skinny in the legs. She looks more like a sci-fi /fantasy character; than a Barbie.

Lol@ all the women on here defending/complimenting this. Sad day for my gender, no fucking hope.

  95. Why not? She has worked hard to attain what she believes to be physical perfection.

  96. Amani Zaidan
    Jun 25, 2012

no she spent a lot of money, there's a difference. She bought surgery, bought a physical trainer, and limits her diet. That isn't a lot of work. It is one thing to be fit and another to be insane with the appeal of vanity. Live life don't waste it perfecting the aesthetics of it.

  97. Amani Zaidan
    Jun 25, 2012

oh and a very good make up artist. Hard work my arse.

  98. There is nothing wrong with wanting to look good. Plastic surgery, exercise, and diet control can be done responsibly. I think it is hard work and her results are great. It cost a lot of money, no doubt. So what? I do agree that health is important, but I don't think she looks unhealthy. I wouldn't call her insane, just driven. Nothing wrong with that either. I'll bet she is probably living a nice life.

  99. Amani Zaidan
    Jun 25, 2012

nothing wrong with wanting to look good but she didn't work hard for it she just happened to have the money. She did not improve her looks, she changed them. That is where I draw the line at cosmetic surgery. It's fine if you want to improve your looks by making your nose smaller, breasts bigger, etc but completely changing your whole body and facial structure is just insane and pointless. It's dangerous to want such attention.

  112. people judge other peoples choices because they are nosy and jealous, there like school yard bullies who want to pick on others for how they look. No matter the way the person got there whether they are living barbies, transsexuals, body modifiers, or just plain old fat or skinny people always will stick there opinions where they are not needed like how I am right now. 114. people should never be judged, but she is a public figure and she knew she would be judged… so stop being hypocrites about that. if she had the courage to go thru surgery, she has the courage to live with the would judging her about it, because no matter what u are or do, people's gonna talk… let them talk, then, and do what u want…

  119. John Gomez
    Jul 26, 2012

Oh! Molly I didn't see your reply. Sorry! Why would you tell someone to stop if we haven't already judged her. I think the problem is semantics though. I'm not judging her to put her down, I'm judging her out of health. When I say "judge", I'm using it in the same context that you would look at a friend who is harming themselves, but they don't realize it.

Tishell, I'll ask again: We shouldn't judge people for doing meth, even though they knew what the public would say about it?

  120. Ok if you mean judge as an advise, that's different, but usually when u've come this far, u don't listen to what people has to say, and when u change your mind about something u're doing to your self, is just because u don't want it anymore… what I mean is that is her body, her desition… I personally think she is kind of creepy, but we're all freaks in some way… and seriously c'mon, we all harm ourselves in some way…

  121. no one has the right to judge anyone else. John would you like it if someone judged you based on your appearance and would you think it would be ok?

  122. John Gomez
    Jul 27, 2012

If my appearance was a result of unhealthy living habits, I hope someone judges me and lets me know exactly where I'll end up. So yes, I would appreciate it if someone was kind enough to do that.

Remember: YOU judge people every day too. Our whole society depends on it.

See someone that has lots of muscles? They must work out a lot.
See someone wearing a nice suit? They must take pride in who they are.
See someone in a uniform? They must be working.
See someone wearing an extremely and freshly stained shirt? They must be slobbish.
See someone with lots of calluses on their fingers? They must work with their hands a lot.

See someone who went under the knife and continues to starve herself to look extremely thin? She must be unhealthy.

Quoting the article that this one links to:

"If Barbie were an actual women, she would be 5'9" tall, have a 39" bust, an 18" waist, 33" hips and a size 3 shoe. Barbie calls this a "full figure" and likes her weight at 110 lbs," wrote Slayen. "Barbie would have a BMI of 16.24 and fit the weight criteria for anorexia. She likely would not menstruate. If Barbie was a real woman, she'd have to walk on all fours due to her proportions."

ANOREXIA IS UNHEALTHY. Now, as good people, I would hope all of you would be kind enough to politely let her know that what she's doing could kill her. (And I must stress politely.)

  123. John Gomez if meth actually made meth addicts happy sure let them but last time i checked addiction doesn't equal happiness and meth addicts usually hate the fact that they are meth addicts, who are you to try and tell them how to live anyway last time i checked you werent master of the universe knower of all.

  124. John Gomez oh and I'm not an expert on anorexia, but I'm pretty sure no matter how much anyone starved themselfs they'll never aquire that sort of figure.

  125. John Gomez oh and I'm not an expert on anorexia, but I'm pretty sure no matter how much anyone starved themselfs they'll never aquire that sort of figure.

  126. John Gomez
    Jul 27, 2012

I've met plenty of addicts of all sorts who were quite happy in their squalor. I'll admit that not all of them were, though.

And who am I? No one important, but I try to do the right thing. Sometimes, it's the wrong thing. Others, I actually am able to help a fellow human out.

And if you notice, I'm not telling them how to live. I'm telling them that what they're going is killing them. There's a difference.

Also, a funny: Most of you are telling me how to live by not judging others. Irony or ignorance?

  127. No one chooses to be born, we arn't obligated to contribute to society in a way you deem fit.

  128. John Gomez
    Jul 27, 2012

    I said:

"See someone who *went under the knife* and continues to starve herself to look extremely thin? She must be unhealthy."

Note there are two things she did. One of them is very unhealthy.

  129. must be unhealthy, because you must be a medical doctor who has conducted a physical exam and bloodwork to prove that she must be unhealthy. For all you know this is a combo of great photoshop and makeup. She could have never had surgury a day of her life hell she could be a freak of nature and this is just how she looks.

  130. You know as I person I see someone whose made an ass of himself, and misused the word Irony. note there are two things you've done. Both of them are pretty moronic

  131. John Gomez
    Jul 27, 2012

Wow, Maia. I respond to your argument (and not your typos nor your grammar errors) and you try attacking me personally about an (indeed) misused word. Nice catch, but poor debating tactics. Stick to the argument, please.

    Anyway…

No, I'm not a doctor. But that doesn't mean I can't educate myself about medical things and make informed judgements and decisions about life. Read carefully: If she is attempting to look as close as she can to a Barbie doll, she must starve herself and have surgery. I said this before while quoting someone else in the article. Read above.

"For all you know this is a combo of great photoshop and makeup."

You're absolutely correct. So I'll directly respond to this:

If this is false, I stand by everything I said about Valeria trying to look like a Barbie Doll. If this is true, I stand by everything I said when it comes to anyone who would try to look like a Barbie Doll. Therefore, it doesn't matter if it's Photoshopped or not when it comes to judgement.

  132. It would make my day if you told me how long it took to type that and how angry you felt. please enlighten me sir

Ah. Another ad hominem. Are you going to actually reply to the argument?

  134. Sure john if that would make you happy, here is my reply…hold your horses sir this will leave quite an impact.

Well, if anyone else has anything to say, I'm still open to having a debate.

  138. Maia Idgaf Neves
I saw her picture on the internet several months ago and after finding out what her name was, did a little research. She HAS had plastic surgeries and DOES have an unhealthy obsession with looking like Barbie. (It's especially apparent in the comments she makes about herself on Youtube and her blog). Her looks are not natural. She also said herself, in one of her youtube videos, that she "eats very little" to achieve her slim appearance. She is basically starving herself. So your argument is invalid…

  139. my arugment was that regardless of how unhealthy what she was doing was it was her choice and if it makes her happy then so be it. I'm not going to try and bully her into stopping.

Savanah, Maia is a troll. Read above how she started with a similar argument above, and then ended with ad homs.

Do whatever you want with this one, but DON'T BLINK.

  141. she's got goals and a dream, and that in itself is pretty, not to mention she looks genuinely happy.

  142. Maia Idgaf Neves : Who's bullying her? I don't recall any bullying.

  143. Savannah calling someone

  144. Unhealthy without an MD infront of your name makes your point invalid

  145. Kim kardashian doesnt have plastic surgery

  146. John Gomez So you never eat junk food, you work out every day, and you always get enough sleep? If so, then please post a picture of yourself, because you must look amazing. If not, then no, you can't judge anyone for how they treat their body.

  147. See Juan, ahem John I'm not the only person who thinks you're talking out of your bunghole

  150. @Amy Gutierrez *You're
I would say you're probably an idiot but you proved it yourself. :)

  151. According to her videos, she barely eats anything cause she doesnt want to ruin her very slim waist. In short, she starves herself to achieve some kind of perfect proportions(according to her standards). I think it's safe to say, she's almost there (anorexic).

  152. John Gomez
    Aug 22, 2012

Kelly, are you saying a smoker could never tell another smoker that what he or she does is unhealthy?

Just because one person does something wrong doesn't mean they don't have the presence of mind to at least help other people with the same issues get out of the same hole. If we used your logic, Alcoholics Anonymous would never exist.

  153. let it go man, most people have no consept of the branch of philosphy called logic. Quit trying to have a soild argument with the users of the internet. God this is like days old and I'm tired of seeing notifcations on this pop up.

  154. John Gomez
    Aug 22, 2012

I'll keep that in mind, Maia. Oh boy, I'll keep that in mind.

  155. John Gomez, you're completely right with the smoking example. You don't need to be a doctor to know what's unhealthy. -_- Also, Maia, I asked who is bullying her and you responded with an unrelated comment. If calling a skinny person skinny is bullying, then this world is doomed. Yes, it's pretty obvious there are many people on the internet incapable of using logic. You're one of them.

  156. Calling someone a saint can be derogatory depending on the context. In fact some would find being called skinny quite offensive. And everyone is capable of using logic, even the dimmest of our species. That is right even you can have clear and concise thoughts. As far as being able to know what is or isn't healthy, doctor or not "All I know, is that I know nothing" and even though this applies to doctors as well, being a medical doctor is what gives you the necessary qualifications deem some one healthy or not, which means only a doctor has permission diagnose anyone with anything in our society. Anorexia is unhealthy is a belief shared by most medical professionals, unless Valeria Lukyanova or her physician came out and stated that she indeed without a shadow of a doubt was anorexic then you could make that claim that she is unhealthy. There just isn't enough evidence to convince me that what she is doing is wrong.

  157. As to your question: who is bullying her? Making claims biased on hearsay and then reinforcing those claims is similar to this sort of scenario: In a group person x is talking about person y, person x has bits and pieces of information about person y she rights an article much like this one this article loaded with bias, personal opinion and the occasional fact in this case the fact is person y has gotten a tattoo person x without any qualification to do so says this is unhealthy and immoral, and has no explanation backing her statement and then she presents this article to the rest of the group the group mind agrees with person x and says continues to harass person y because of what they heard. Sort of like what a rumor does. When you go off of what people say without evidence and run with it, rumors = bullying

  158. and I meant based in that top line not biased.
so you are bullying her savannah

I'd like to start off first by saying Maia get a life. You spend way too much time defending someone you do not even know personally. That is a sign of lacking friends and people to care for. Second this is absolutely horrifying and more unhealthy both physically and mentally than anything thing I have ever seen. You should not judge someones naturally beauty, you know the way they were born. However, when it comes to someone being so screwed up in the head that they want to look like a barbie doll. It's time to say something to them. Wake up! if you were suppose to look like a plastic doll you would. More faith in humanity has been lossed.

  167. -"I'd like to start off first by saying Maia get a life"- I am alive therefore I can experience being alive therefore I have a life
    - Jonathan Wisniewski the only thing that my efforts show is that I enjoy practicing my argumentative and communication skills via a variety of methods including conversation via the internet. My statements have no direct relationship with my place amoungst the humans I interact with or my peers. so i don't accept your claim that my behavior is a sign of "a sign of lacking friends and people to care for".
-Just because something is the worst thing you have ever seen does not mean that it is automatically wrong either if you are used to seeing people look a certain way and someone deviates from what is normal and you could assume that it is bad. This assumption is the root cause of racism and judgmental behavior. -Actually when you judge a person by their natural beauty you give them undeserved credit, when you see someone who you think is physically beautiful and treat them affectionately for it your being nice to them just for being born a certain way. According to Kant a well known philosopher we aught to wear a "veil of ignorance" and disregard peoples in born advantages and disadvantages and put more importance in the choices they make in their lives.
-incomplete sentence:"However, when it comes to someone being so screwed up in the head that they want to look like a barbie doll"[ this isn't even a complete thought so i can't honestly respond to it]).
"It's time to say something to them"
What would you propose saying, contrary to what you might think the more you try to confront peoples desires and change them through social force( meaning using commands and put downs to make people change) is ineffective, the more you tell someone not to be a certain way, the harder they fight back in order to defend their individuality. If you were say an animal rights activist and people called you stupid for it you will continue to defend your beliefs and actually be motivated by it.

"if you were suppose to look like a plastic doll you would"- this is a common falliacy, you should realize that an is does not constitute an ought. just because something is a certain way doesn't mean it is supposed to be.

"More faith in humanity has been lossed." thats your problem, if your so pessimistic that you can't appreciate the fact that we live in a world where you can live out your dreams without being forcibly stopped by others just because they don't agree with you, then I've lost faith in your potential and those who share your opinion.

Your attempt to discredit me is poor and quite humorous. First of all you missed the important parts of the point I was making…. I am not judging the fact that the way she looks deviates from what society may think is normal. She doesn't deviate from normal, she deviates from healthy and that is the key issue here. I do not care if you want to pierce your body a billion times or cover yourself in tattoos to express yourself that is completely healthy….. For you to sit here and say that she is just trying to be different and not acknowledge the fact that she is harming herself very seriously is ridiculous. Also all bullshit aside she is almost 90 percent fake at this point…. she has had so much surgery that any original piece of her former appearance barely exists aside from her internal organs. By the way that is fact…. Do some research on how much surgery she has had. I am sorry call it just an opinion, call it being judgmental, call it whatever you like. I call it common sense, there is nothing beautiful about someone who's outer appearance represents that of a plastic doll period. You and anyone else who would think otherwise would give even the most optimistic person a reason to worry about the future of the human race. Your words are not hope giving or right protecting they are just words uttered from a fools mouth. There is nothing healthy or beautiful about this woman and to even pretend this is okay is to only make future generations of men or women who need better guidance when it comes to their outer appearance think that this is what they should do to their bodies to be "beautiful". It sickens me, you sicken me, anyone who shares your twisted views on this sickens me. Back in the day natural beauty is what was protested…. Now its hard to find a woman who feels comfortable going out in public without caking on 8 lbs of make up to look "good" for someone. That is in no way shape or form healthy thinking.. It's insecure and shows lack of self esteem in todays generations. Get real…… literally

  170. I know you commented by the way, you must have taken it back. Its probably for the best, you would probably just make an ass of yourself. :)

  171. She is utter perfection! Anyone who disagrees is a totally nasty hog.

  172. I am not sure looking like barbie is a look one should strive for, but well she does look like barbie. As to her body she quite frankly reminds me of my daughter and even more so my niece, they both have that same waspy body shape (didn't get it from me! LOL!) so it very well could be natural. I do find her much more attractive without the barbie makeup.

Maia, it is a parent's ultimate job to raise a contibuting member of society. It builds confidence and a sense of self worth. Physical beauty doesn't last forever… even the plastic kind. And no, I am neither fat nor ugly, just real :)
