San Diego Comic-Con 2015 Schedule And Highlights, What To Watch Out For

The San Diego Comic-Con is just around the corner, and with a dizzying number of events all happening simultaneously, the regular comic-con goer is sure to go nuts trying to decide which events to look out for. The San Diego Comic-Con already released a full list of all their events to guide everyone attending the Comic-Con in the flesh or via streaming, but here are some of the San Diego Comic-Con highlights that we believe merits some attention.

Good news for the gamers: Treyarch will actually be at the San Diego Comic-Con for the first time, bringing along with them a bunch of surprises and freebies. Those attending the Treyarch event at the comic-con will witness the world premiere of Call of Duty: Black Ops III, one of the most-anticipated titles not only in the Call of Duty franchise, but in the genre of first-person shooter games in general.

Apart from the most-awaited world premiere of Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Call of Duty fans will also be delighted to know that a prequel comics for Call of Duty: Black Ops III will be released during the San Diego comic-con. The Treyarch panel will happen on July 9 of the San Diego Comic-Con at room 6BCF.

For movies and superhero enthusiasts, Warner Bros. has a huge panel in store for San Diego Comic-Con goers this coming Saturday. The Hollywood Reporter confirms that the cast and director of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be appearing at the San Diego Comic-Con, and hopefully accompanied by a couple of early footage promos from the movie. For those skeptical (since the movie isn’t due until August 2016,) do not fear, since an even earlier preview of Batman v Superman came at the Comic-Con last year, which means more teasers could be expected this year.

Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, and Jesse Eisenberg (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Lois Lane, and Lex Luthor) will be arriving at the San Diego Comic-Con with Batman v Superman director Zack Snyder. Catch them at Hall H on Saturday, July 11.

For the more kids-at-heart, Saturday is also a good day for you, since an Avatar: The Last Airbender panel will be held during the San Diego Comic-Con. The stories of Aang and Korra ended on television, but Avatar: The Last Airbender fans will be happy to know that the graphic novel lives on. A lot of exciting appearances will happen at their San Diego Comic-Con panel, with Magda E. (artist), Kevin Coppa (Puppetbenders creator), Giancarlo Volpe (director ATLA, producer Green Lantern the Animated Series), Aaron Ehasz (head writer ATLA), Dante Basco (voice actor, Zuko), Jack DeSena (voice actor, Sokka), and Darcy Rose Byrnes (Voice actor, Ikki).

A cosplay contest will also be held during the panel at Room 25ABC on Saturday, July 11, and you have to be at the panel room to be considered for the awarding.

And for the more hardcore comics fans, BOOM! Studios will be celebrating their 10th year at the San Diego Comic-Con and prepared a large number of signings and appearances. Apart from their signings spread throughout the whole of the week of San Diego Comic-Con, the award-winning comic book publisher will also host the BOOM! 10 Year Birthday Bash on Thursday night at the Odysea Bar, Hilton Bayfront Hotel, just near the convention center. The party is open to the public.

BOOM! is at booth #2229 on the show floor, and a complete list of their signings from Wednesday to Sunday could be found here.
