Ed Sheeran To Perform At Macy’s 4th Of July Fireworks Spectacular

Ed Sheeran, the six-time Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, is set to be the latest addition to the line-up for Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular, NBC reported.

And as People Magazine revealed recently, Ed Sheeran will perform alongside Dierks Bentley, Kelly Clarkson, Brad Paisley, Flo Rida, and Meghan Trainor.

NBC’s annual 25-minute presentation honors the theme of bravery, with effects in 22 different colors and more than 50,000 pyrotechnic shells. This year, the effects will include multicolored ghosts, spider webs, roaring dragons, and patriotic stars, among other spectacular attractions.

Last year’s celebrations went beautifully without Ed Sheeran, so fans are can only imagine what their favorite singer-songwriter’s performance will so to this year’s event. Forgot about last year’s celebrations? Catch up here.

Meanwhile, Ed Sheeran has been busy performing shows at different venues around the United States. After performing with the Rolling Stones at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, he played to a 10,000-strong crowd at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado.

As reported by Nine News, Ed Sheeran was overjoyed with the experience of playing in front of such a large crowd.

“I have never been to a place like this in my entire life. This is phenomenal. We don’t have places like this in England. We kind of just end up playing in the same old arenas that smell of urine.”

Ed Sheeran uploaded a picture of himself with the Rolling Stones on his Instagram profile.

By all accounts, Ed Sheeran’s performance at Red Rocks was a resounding success. It was a reminder of his ability to command large crowds simply with his music and stage presence. Ed Sheeran is not a manufactured product of some L.A. studio whose sole purpose is to disguise prepubescent teens as serious musicians, but an actual singer-songwriter who will not be out of place at an open mic night or a local’s night at a small pub.

Westword only had good things to write about Ed Sheeran’s performance at Red Rocks.

“It’s unfortunate that Sheeran is the anomaly in the pop music industrial complex, because mainstream music needs more artists like him. More truthful artists who know every chord on a guitar, how to manipulate rhythms, bend complex melodies to their will and don’t need a recording booth full of ghost-writers to sell songs. If there is any tiny shred of hope that fame and fortune can still reach those incredibly talented musicians who spend decades playing to empty bars, it’s in the voice of Sheeran.”

There is not much left to say about Ed Sheeran’s music. The way the crowd warmed up to him in Denver speaks volumes about his influence. All we can say is we can’t wait for him to perform at Macy’s 4th Of July Fireworks Spectacular.
