WWE News: Shawn Michaels Turns Down Huge WrestleMania 32 Role

When WWE superstars retire, they usually come back. The Rock returned to face John Cena a few years ago and then wrestled him again for the WWE championship the year later. Goldust returned to in-ring competition and had a very successful run with Cody Rhodes, which included a WWE Tag-Team championship.

Also, Triple H comes back once or twice a year to wrestle. Mick Foley nearly returned several years ago against Dean Ambrose, but the match was called off. Lastly, the New Age Outlaws came back and were impressive. After a WWE star leaves, more than likely he or she will return.

There are exceptions to the rule. At this time, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels are two WWE Hall of Famers who haven’t wrestled since their retirement. Austin was rumored to return and face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 32, but the Texas Rattlesnake has since denied those rumors. Another WWE legend almost came back at WrestleMania 32, but according to Wrestlezone.com, that too will not happen.

“During the night, HBK revealed WWE offered him a major role at WrestleMania 32, but he turned it down. Michaels went on to say that he feels like he has nothing left to do in WWE. He said that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have any ‘gas left in the tank,’ as he has loads left, but he said when you have a gun, you don’t fire all the ammunition at once. He said he just feels like he has had enough.”

Shawn Michaels said that during “An Evening With Jim Ross” in Manchester, United Kingdom. A lot of WWE fans would love to see Michaels back in the ring. His last match was against the Undertaker at WrestleMania 26. Along with their match at WrestleMania 25, they are two of the best bouts in WWE history.

Many WWE fans consider the Heartbreak Kid the greatest WWE superstar of all-time. That might be where Michaels gets his logic on coming back or not. He has accomplished everything, except for the Money in the Bank briefcase, but that will never happen now. If he were to return, it would be for one match only; quite like Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Michaels has said who he would face if a return match ever happened. In an earlier report by the Inquisitr, Michaels revealed that he wanted to face Daniel Bryan, if he does return. Since he turned down the role at WrestleMania 32 role, as well as Bryan’s health, that match isn’t going to happen anytime soon, if ever. Give Shawn Michaels credit, he doesn’t crave the WWE limelight and doesn’t need the WWE to succeed.
