Jada Pinkett Smith Quashes Divorce Rumors, Discusses Their ‘Open’ Marriage
Jada Pinkett Smith is finally speaking out about her marriage to Will Smith. Fans have been wondering if Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are having marriage problems. Numerous rumors have been following the couple for years, and it seems like some of those rumors are finally coming to light.
Jada Pinkett Smith, 43, stopped by Howard Stern’s SiriusXM radio show to quash some of those rumors. Smith said that she and Will Smith, 46, have never cheated on each other. She also hinted that although they have an open marriage, there still needs to be trust involved. The Smiths can do whatever they want, as long as they can come home and face each other.
“You gotta trust who you’re with, and at the end of the day, I’m not here to be anybody’s watcher. I’m not his watcher. He’s a grown man. I trust that the man that Will is is a man of integrity. He’s got all the freedom in the world, and as long as Will can look at himself in the mirror and be ‘OK, I’m good.’
I’m not the kind of woman that believes a man isn’t going to be attracted to other women. And just because your man is attracted to another woman doesn’t mean he doesn’t love you and doesn’t mean he is going to act on it. If your man can’t really see another woman’s beauty, how the hell is he going to see yours?”
She also joked that their A-list names would quickly uncover any alleged affair. Smith also hinted that not all Hollywood couples were on the same page about their alleged open marriages. Does that mean there’s other big names who are also in open marriages?
“I’m gonna know anyway. It can sometimes [suck] if you’re not clear about where your man is.”
At the end of the day, Jada Pinkett Smith says she knows her husband loves her.
“When you can look in your man’s eyes and know that he’s holding you down and that he loves you. Here’s what’s real: I’m not the kind of woman that believes a man is not going to be attracted to another woman.”
Will Smith has been the subject of cheating and divorce rumors since working with his Focus co-star, Margot Robbie. The Wolf of Wall Street actress quashed the rumors and called them “ridiculous.” That hasn’t stopped rumors from swirling since Will Smith and Margot Robbie are also working together in their new film, Suicide Squad. Reports claim that Will is also jealous of Margot’s boyfriend, Tom Ackerley.
The Gotham actress also admitted that she got married too young. When asked if she would do things over again, Smith agreed that she would. Smith advised that others, including her own children, shouldn’t get married so young. But she also clarified that she’s lucky to have married someone like Will Smith.
“Heck yeah, don’t do it. It did work out, but it worked out in a way that thank God I have a husband who is just a gangster partner because can you imagine taking that road together from 25 to 44? Woo! We have travelled. You’ve got to be strong. It takes work.”
