Sisters Brutally Beaten And Held Hostage For 20 Hours Inside Apartment By Men They Met On Facebook

Two sisters of Tallaght, Dublin, were badly beaten and held hostage for 20 hours by two men they met on Facebook. After the brutal beating, they were luckily released and taken to a hospital by a motorist who happened to be driving by, according to the Mirror.

Amy Rice, 21, and her sister Nicole Rice, 19, had been speaking with two men — whose names have not been released to the public — on Facebook for quite some time, and they finally agreed to meet in person.

The plan was to meet at a local bar and have a few drinks, but once the sisters made it to the location, the two men had other plans. The men — ages 25 and 30 — had taken the sisters to an apartment located at Francis Lane, Newbridge, where things took a turn for the worst.

Amy told reporters at Irish Independent, “They started to get aggressive and my sister got up to leave. One of them pushed her to the ground and started kicking her in the head.”

“They tied us up with rags and put them on our mouths and just kept laughing and laughing as they beat us up.

“Nicole made a run to the corridor outside and fell on the stairs trying to get away and passed out at the bottom.

“They thought she was dead and started ringing people on the phone and saying they needed to dig holes in the Wicklow mountains as they didn’t know what to do with these girls.”

“I was so scared,” Amy continued. “I thought we were going to die, I was full sure they were going to kill us.”

“They eventually let us go at about 3 p.m., and said if we went to the guards they would kill us and our family.”

The two sisters were taken to a hospital by a motorist who happened to be in the area. Physicians say they suffered from severe cuts and bruises to their face.

They also believe that the two men drugged them just before taking them to the apartment where they tortured them for 20 hours.

A spokesperson spoke with reporters and stated, “Gardaí are investigating the alleged false imprisonment and assault of two women, aged 19 and 21 years, which occurred at Francis Lane, Newbridge, County Kildare between 9pm on Thursday 14th May, and 2pm Friday 15th May, 2015.”

“The women received non-life threatening injuries during the incident. The women received a lift on Friday afternoon, from a man driving an orange colored car in Newbridge to Tallaght Hospital.

“The scene was preserved and technically examined.”

After the two sisters were badly beaten by the men they met on Facebook, they wanted to warn other social media site users to be cautious of who they meet online as it could turn into a dangerous situation.

Amy and Nicole were released from the hospital, and they are expected to make a full recovery.
