Rapper Flabba Dies: South African Rapper’s Death Following Stabbing Mourned By Fans

South African rapper Flabba died on Monday at his home in South Africa. His death is now making headlines around the world as his fans and the music industry mourn. Flabba, otherwise known as Nkululeko Habedi, died of stab wounds after a violent incident in his home in Alexandra, according to OK! Magazine. The man, aged 38, leaves behind two young children.

Police are now investigating the man’s death, and it has been revealed that his girlfriend is the main suspect in his death. She was taken into police custody in the hours following his death, and she will appear in court within 48 hours of her arrest.

According to Bella Ninja, police released a statement about Flabba’s death, sharing some details they know at this time.

“Flabba who gained fame when he joined the famous Skwatta Kamp was allegedly murdered at 2 am on 9 March in Alexandra township in Johannesburg. The stabbing took place in Flabba’s room, he was stabbed in the heart once. His brother, Tshepang said he watched him die. His cousin, Luyanda Habedi said he had tried to resuscitate him by doing CPR and attempted to stop blood which flowed from the wound. An argument took place between Flabba and his girlfriend before his death. His close friend, Nkululeko says they did not expect it to escalate to a physical altercation.”

This rapper’s shocking death has hit his bandmates hard. One of his bandmates, Sello “Nemza” Mofokeng, went to social media to share his own statement about his friend’s passing, according to NME.

“It is with a heavy heart that I inform you of the saddest news this morning that one of my brothers, Flabba, has passed away. May his soul RIP, he will never be forgotten. Gone too soon with so much potential still. Will always love him. Life is a precious gift and he lived every breath with a full heart.”

After news of the rappers death was released, fans took to Twitter immediately. Within moments of the release of the sad news, #RIPFlabba was a worldwide trend. Fans have continued to share their thoughts on the rapper’s passing on social media since then.

The rapper’s death is still an on-going investigating, but one of his bandmates revealed that Flabba and his girlfriend did fight more than once on the night of the stabbing. According to EWN, Lebo “Shugasmakx” Mothibe shared a statement about the fight.

“We’re not sure exactly who said what, but it was any sort of lovers quarrel, as usual. It’s just one of those things. We don’t know what led to what happened. No one will really know because none of us were there.”

Flabba has released six albums with Skwatta Kamp, and he released work as a solo artist. He gave himself the nickname Flabba after he heard his grandma say the word flabbergasted. He was so amused by the way she said it that he had to use it as his nickname.
