‘Dragon Age: Inquisition’ Patch 3 For Xbox, Playstation Has Now Been Submitted For Certification

The third patch for Bioware’s Dragon Age: Inquisition, which was previously released to PC players last month, will soon be deploying across all console platforms. Over the weekend, the developer announced to fans via their official Twitter account that the bug fix update is planned to soon become available to Dragon Age: Inquisition fans on both Xbox and Playstation systems.

“The consoles will be getting Patch 3 in the future. Please keep checking our social channels for updates.”

While an exact date was not given for when the fixes will make their way to consoles, Dragon Age: Inquisition executive producer Mark Darrah did provide gamers with a greater indication of how close the console patch is to release after he confirmed that the new Dragon Age: Inquisition update has already been submitted for certification on the Xbox One, Xbox 360, Playstation 4, and Playstation 3.

For those unfamiliar with the process, all new downloadable game content must pass certification testing from Microsoft and Sony before it is allowed to be released on either Xbox Live or the Playstation Network. News that Dragon Age: Inquisition‘s third patch is now in certification means that Bioware believes that the update is now ready for release. At this point the developer is merely waiting to see if the patch passed the first-party testing process. If it does, then Dragon Age: Inquisition fans should soon be able to enjoy the new update on all platforms.

In addition to removing bugs from Dragon Age: Inquisition, the change log from the PC version of the patch also informs users that Bioware has made some minor alterations on how the game’s systems work. These tweaks should make it more likely to hear NPC companions speak as the fire rate for their in-game banter was adjusted.

However, some changes from the patch notes were very specific to the PC version of Dragon Age: Inquisition and thus won’t be necessary for those playing on home consoles. For example, Patch 3 gave PC players the ability to make their characters walk by holding down an assigned modifier key. Such a feature obviously won’t be required for Dragon Age: Inquisition on consoles since Xbox and Playstation fans can already make their Inquisitors walk thanks to full analog controls.

A large number of gamers could currently be waiting on the upcoming release of the third patch for Dragon Age: Inquisition on consoles. In fact, there are potentially more users playing Bioware’s latest release after Electronic Arts revealed that the game has sold more copies at launch than any other Bioware title, as recently reported by the Inquisitr. Those sales statistics were released last week during an EA investor earnings call.
