‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ Introduces Lobster Boy, Three-Breasted Woman [Photos]

New American Horror Story: Freak Show photos are giving fans an up-close look at the performers who will make up Jessica Lange’s menagerie of unusuals and viewers definitely won’t be disappointed by what they see.

Yahoo! TV recently a revealed a slideshow of the sideshow performers, making it easy to determine which freaks most of the American Horror Story actors and actors will be playing.

Sarah Paulson is pictured as Bette and Dot Tattler, conjoined twins who share one body. Their large feathered fan hints that they might be a lot more than just two pretty faces — perhaps they put on a show by singing and dancing.

Michael Chiklis is playing a strongman named Dell Toledo. He’s on the run from the law, and you can expect to see his character facing a few familial issues.

Jessica Lange will sport a glam look to play Elsa Mars, the woman who runs the show on American Horror Story: Freak Show. Her character is a German ex-pat inspired by Marlene Dietrich, and she truly cares about the “freaks” who perform in her shows.

Kathy Bates makes the best bearded lady as Ethel Darling. As The Inquisitr previously reported, she’ll be playing the ex-wife of Dell Toledo and the mother of Evan Peters’ character. She also has a connection to Wes Bentley’s character, a “dark tormentor” from her past “who is hell-bent on revenge.” Darling is described as Elsa’s henchwoman.

Angela Bassett’s three-breasted beauty is straight out of Total Recall. Her character is named Desiree Dupre, and she’s Dell Toledo’s current wife. Sarah Paulson told Entertainment Weekly that Bassett wears a prosthetic that covers her entire chest and that she loves “flashing” the cast.

Evan Peters’ Jimmy Darling is the son of the bearded lady and the strongman. It looks like his American Horror Story character might be based on Grady Stiles, a.k.a. “Lobster Boy.” He was a real-life freak show performer who was born with claw-like hands and feet. Lobster Boy murdered his daughter’s fiancé and eventually got murdered himself after two of his own family members hired a hit man to kill him.

Evan Peters American Horror Story

Wes Bentley’s character is also based on a real person. Edward Mordrake was a 19th century nobleman who was born with what appeared to be a second face on the back of his head. The “devil twin” couldn’t speak, but Mordrake allegedly claimed that he could hear its evil words. The “demon face” eventually drove him to madness and he committed suicide. As mentioned above, Edward Mordrake has a beef with Kathy Bates’ bearded lady. He’ll appear in a two-part Halloween special.

Emma Roberts is playing Maggie Esmerelda. Judging from her character photo, it looks like she’s a fortune teller. But is she the real deal or a fraud? She and Evan Peters’ character will be involved in a romantic relationship.

Frances Conroy’s Gloria Mott is a wealthy woman who is horrified that her handsome son wants to join the freak show.

Finn Wittrock plays Conroy’s son Dandy. It’s unknown what makes him a “freak.”

Denis O’Hare’s character is a “collector of freaks” and a con artist. However, he won’t be the biggest villain on season 4 of American Horror Story.

Twisty the clown” is one of the few main characters not pictured here. Ryan Murphy makes him sound like the most terrifying clown that you’ll ever see.

“Twisty the clown is a murderous clown and he’s furious that the freaks have shown up in a town where he the most evil clown of all time has retired and he’s out to make their lives a living hell. I’m fascinated by the whole clown phobia thing because I personally don’t have it. But whenever we shoot those scenes half the time a third of the crew has to leave because they’re so afraid of him.”

However, according to Murphy, the face that Twisty the clown is hiding underneath his mask is even more terrifying. Viewers haven’t been treated to an official look at Twisty, but many of the American Horror Story: Freak Show teasers feature creepy clowns. You can check them out below.
