Taco Bell ‘Quesarito,’ aka Quesadilla Burrito, Still A Hit With Customers

Taco Bell’s quesadilla burrito, aka the “Quesarito,” continues to be a hit among the American and Hispanic-Latino American communities. The Taco Bell Quesarito was unveiled in early June 2014, according to The Wire. The wrap is a cheesy quesadilla wrapped around a burrito. Customers can choose between ground beef, chicken, or steak (carne molida, pollo y bistec). Out of the three, many say the ground beef taco is the tastiest.

Taco Bell’s almost $4 Quesarito, a take on the $11 Chipotle version, also contains layers of delicious cheeses, cilantro rice, also referred to as Latin white rice, as well as chipotle sauce and sour cream. The extra tortilla is grilled to perfection and adds an additional layer of flavor.

Reps of the international restaurant chain say they spent over a year testing out the Quesarito in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Many Taco Bell customers say the grilled wrap has a delicious zesty flavor, but say that the meat inside the burrito is sparse as it is filled with mostly rice and cheese. On Taco Bell’s American Facebook page, one poster writes: “This is good. And it pairs nice with Mexican beer.” Another poster writes: “You spelled Quesarito wrong. It’s spelled h-e-a-v-e-n.”

Other Taco Bell customers say: “Pardon me I’ll be right back….*grabs car keys and wallet,” “Taco Bell, I love you,” “This was yummy. Had one about 30 minutes ago!”

But not everyone likes it: “I tried it and didn’t like it. Either the ads are misleading or my local taco bell didn’t make it right. There was no shredded cheese in it. It was all cheese wiz stuff. The commercials show stringy cheese when pulled apart. Not all cheese wiz,” writes one customer. Many others say they prefer Taco Bell’s “Beefy Crunch Burrito.” In fact, there is a Facebook page dedicated to bringing back the Beefy Crunch Burrito.

Taco Bell, known for its infamous chihuahua commercials, has been serving up its take on Mexican food since 1946. Today, the restaurant serves over $2 billion customers a year. Most of Taco Bell’s customers are very happy with the variety of tacos to choose from, and they return to the establishment at least once every 11 days, according to the Huffington Post.

The Bell operates in several countries outside the United States, including Canada, Chile, Cyprus, Iceland, India, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Spain, South Korea, Dominican Republic, Aruba, and Columbia, just to name a few.

Over the years, Taco Bell has made a number of headlines. In 2013, ABC News reported that inmate Gary Cole sued the chain for infringing upon his idea for the “Doritos Locos” recipe.

In 2011, a class action suit was brought against Taco Bell accusing them of using extenders in the beef. That suit was later dropped, according to NBC News.

In 2014, Taco Bell manager Vettia Roche was murdered by two Taco Bell employees and dumped behind the restaurant.
