‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’: Sarah Paulson’s Two-Headed Character Revealed

What’s better than seeing Sarah Paulson on the upcoming season of American Horror Story: Freak Show? Seeing two of Sarah Paulson, of course. The actress who has often played the unsung hero of the show for two seasons revealed that she will play a two-headed character on the upcoming season of American Horror Story: Freak Show.

Paulson has took on different characters on the horror show, but always ones that everyone ends up rooting for, will play a set of conjoined twins named Bette and Dot. The actress tweeted a photo of Bette and Dot, and both are identical to Paulson.

In any other series conjoined twins would be an odd choice of character but for American Horror Story it’s just another outrageous thing dreamed up by The Normal Heart’s Ryan Murphy. Although we don’t know a lot about the Freak Show season, in addition to Paulson’s photo we do have a few details that have trickled out since the announcement.

Of Paulson’s role, the actress told E! that her first reaction was huge. The actress exclaimed, “Holy s–t!” when she read the script.

“I feel like that’s the appropriate reaction you want when you read the first script of American Horror Story.”

Here’s a look at Sarah Paulson’s characters:

This time around Freak Show will be set in Florida. The Sunshine State will be transformed into a freak show run in the 1950s by Jessica Lange’s character. Lange, who is usually the lead in each season will return for her last go around on American Horror Story as a German ex-pat. In addition to Lange, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, and Angela Bassett will all have roles as the freaks or “unusuals” as they are referred to. These characters will be “rescued” by Lange’s character and put in the freak show.

Gabourey Sidibe, Emma Roberts and Jamie Brewer will also star in the ensemble show. As for new additions, one big one is Michael Chiklis who will play Evan Peters’ father and Kathy Bates’ ex.

As for Denis O’Hare he will go head to head with Lange this year. Earlier he told Vulture:

“I’m going to be working at cross-purposes with her… We’ll have lots of scenes with each other, but we’ll be battling.”

If that isn’t enough then you may want to keep your eye out for a Clown Killer. According to creator and writer Ryan Murphy this clown killer will be, “the most terrifying clown ever.” Doesn’t that sound like a good time?
