Obama Marriage In Trouble? Tabloid Alleges They Are Fighting, And Sleeping Apart

The last time the Obamas were pictured together was at Nelson Mandela’s memorial. As you can see, the First Lady is looking distinctly unhappy as her husband poses for a “selfie” pic with attractive Danish Prime Minister, Helle Thorning-Schmidt.

Certain U.S. tabloids are claiming the couple are facing problems that are far deeper.

With the headline “Obama Divorce Bombshell!”, the National Enquirer alleges their 21-year marriage is in real trouble, and that the most recent fight was triggered by the Mandela memorial incident.

But far more serious is the claim that Michele Obama found out that Secret Service bodyguards had been covering up the President’s infidelity.

The Enquirer says Mrs Obama will remain with her husband until his presidency is over. Then he plans to return to Hawaii, and she will stay in Washington with their children.

They are allegedly sleeping in separate bedrooms.

The National Enquirer only quoted “anonymous sources” to support these sensational claims, and its history of exposing scandals has been proven to be sometimes correct – and sometimes not!

However, the Enquirer was famously accurate with its story about Democrat presidential contender John Edwards who fathered a love child by a former campaign worker.

Since Obama was elected President, two books have claimed the couple almost separated in the early years of their marriage. There was also the allegation that Mrs Obama prepared divorce papers because she felt his political ambition was ruining their relationship.

In 2009, Richard Wolffe wrote in the Washington Post that the marriage almost collapsed nine years earlier: “There was little conversation and even less romance. She was angry at his selfishness and careerism; he thought she was cold and ungrateful,” wrote Wolffe.

However, Wolffe commented that they seemed to have resolved their past issues by the time they got to the White House. In 2012, Edward Klein claimed Mr Obama had become so depressed about his failing marriage in 2000 that friends feared he was contemplating suicide.

It seems Michele didn’t adjust well to Washington life. She was supposed to have told Carla Bruni that she hated Washington; “Don’t ask! It’s hell. I can’t stand it!”

Recently Michele said: “Women should have the freedom to do whatever they need to do to feel good about themselves,” and admitted she wouldn’t rule out plastic surgery or Botox to keep her looks:

And, just to add to the President’s many problems, Former Defense Secretary Robert Gates wrote in his autobiography that Mr Obama is a dangerously aloof, arrogant, naïve, indecisive, and worryingly detached commander-in-chief, who has no passion for his nation’s armed forces.

It seems, if the tabloids are correct, his passions extend in other directions.

Just not in the direction of Michele Obama!
