A woman suspected her husband of cheating, so she stabbed him to death with a knife.
While her husband was sleeping, Tyra Holmes found suspicious text messages on his cell phone and suspected they were from other women. She attempted to call one of the phone numbers but didn’t get an answer.
Tyra became enraged and woke up her husband Michael Holmes. He reportedly became angry and pinned Tyra to the wall before she broke away and ran to the kitchen where she grabbed a knife.
When Michael noticed Tyra had a knife, he ran back upstairs, but she kept chasing him. When the two were on top of staircase, the woman who suspected her husband of cheating stabbed Michael in the chest.
“You stabbed me,” he said.
Her husband was taken to the Broward Health Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
According to investigators, Tyra said that she couldn’t control herself as she threatened her husband.
“We just saw him Sunday and he was trying to leave her , but all because of text message in the phone. You killed my brother,” Michael’s sister, Amber Jewel said.
Michael’s other sister, Alexis Jewell, said that he was not in a relationship with someone else.
“He was good to her and his kids and she murdered him for a senseless reason, a senseless reason, she took the life of my brother for a senseless reason,” she said.
The 26-year-old was reportedly already out on bond for an arrest in April for one count of child neglect, two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and two counts of false information to a law enforcement officer during an investigation.
Tyra was arrested and charged with first degree murder. She is currently being held without bond.
