Director Robert Zemeckis’ 80s classic Who Framed Roger Rabbit? is one of many Disney titles that will get a high definition release early next year.

Combining live action and animation, Roger Rabbit was considered to be a groundbreaking motion picture when it debuted in theaters in 1988. The film starred acclaimed British actor Bob Hoskins as a down on his luck private detective who decides to investigate a murder in the cartoon industry.

Using state of the art technology, the film allowed Hoskins to interact with a number of memorable characters, including his animated co-star Roger Rabbit.

According to Cinema Blend , the upcoming 25th anniversary special edition Blu-ray release of Who Framed Roger Rabbit? will include a slew of extras not available on the DVD version. The set will feature digitally restored version of the “Roger Rabbit Shorts” as well as a host of new featurettes.

For those who have yet to make the jump to high definition, Who Framed Roger Rabbit: The 25th Anniversary Collection will come with both a Blu-ray and DVD version of the film. Fans of the flick can pick up their copy on March 12 for around $26.50 depending on where you shop.

Robert Zemeckis’ classic isn’t the only Disney film getting a Blu-ray release this March. According to HitFix , the studio will also unleash the 1998 animated adventure Mulan as a special edition Blu-ray. The set will reportedly contain the 2004 direct-to-video sequel Mulan II and a generous amount of special features.

Disney is also using the same gimmick for the animated features The Hunchback of Notre Dame and The Hunchback of Notre Dame II . Both films will reportedly arrive in the same package on March 12. These titles will also be joined by a special edition combo release of Brother Bear and Brother Bear 2 .

If you’re an avid movie collector, then you’d better start saving your pennies now. In addition to Who Framed Roger Rabbit? and the other Disney titles listed above, film fanatics can pick up copies of Skyfall , Hitchcock , and the Ron Howard fantasy flick Willow on March 12.
